Real Engagement No1 : cotton field, cupcakes and coca-cola

Today I'll be featuring two adorable engagement shoots from Heather H Photography, in Tuscaloosa, AL. I just love how each of Heather's sessions are so creative and include such fun props. While I do feel props can be overdone, especially for bride and groom portraits and day after shoots, I think it's totally fun to go a little on the silly side and have loads of fun for the engagement photos. So... take a break from all the wedding planning and just have a blast together getting your engagement photos taken. The following couple, Drew and Rachel, first took their photos in a cotton field that Heather found and then they had a little picnic with cupcakes and old coca-cola bottles. So cute!

Be sure to come back a little later this morning to see another fun engagement session from Heather H Photography. You can see more of Drew and Rachel's engagement session here.

Real Engagement : in an industrial, urban setting

Today's Real Engagement shoot of Rachael and Stephen was sent to me from Kerry Brooks Photography in Huntsville, Alabama. Kerry says that he knew just the place to take the couple when Rachael said she wanted an industrial, urban setting. The backdrops for the photos are spectacular and I love Rachael's red shoes! And, their dog that joined them {as you'll see in the first two shots} is just adorable.

Real Engagement Shoot : at Vandusen Botanical Garden

Today's Real Engagement shoot is from Rebecca Photographer {wedding and portrait photographer based in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, BC} and it's one of Rebecca's favorites from her fall sessions. It's a lovely fall shoot that took place at Vandusen Botanical Garden. The fall colors are just beautiful and perfectly frame the couple, Emily and Paul.

Thank you Rebecca for sending me this gorgeous fall engagement shoot to share with my readers today {to see more photos from this session, please click here}. To see more photos from Rebecca Photographer, please visit her web site/blog. You can also find Rebecca on twitter: @rebeccadj

And, be sure to head over to the Wedding Edibles section today for another photo from Rebecca that features a unique alternative to cocktail hour.

Engagement Session {it's fall perfect with leaves + open fields}

Today's fall engagement session comes to us from Cathy Empey Photographer in Canada who specializes in wedding and boudoir photography. Cathy is such an inspiration as not only is she a superb photographer, but she is a wife and mom to 6 beautiful children. Cathy likes to keep the composition of her photos "clean and simple, with an infusion of editorial style, similar to what you might see in a fashion magazine". Love this! My personal favorites from the photos below are the leaf shot and the black and white ring shot - what a beautiful capture. To see more from this engagement shoot, please visit Cathy's blog here and here.

Real Engagement : Nikki and Conrad on Jersey Shore

Today features an amazing engagement session from Love Shack Photo {featuring the husband and wife photography team of Jackie Bayne and Patrick Simione, based in Erdenheim, PA}. Nikki and Conrad's engagement sessions took place on the Jersey shore at Congress Hall in Cape May. They plan to marry in October and I'm already anxious to see the wedding photos. It's bound to be amazing, just look at the engagement photos {complete with ice cream cart, a big ball and more} . . .
There are so many more wonderful engagement photos of Nikki and Conrad, please be sure to visit their post on Love Shack Photo's blog to see all the rest. I had the hardest time picking my favorites to share with you. Thank you Jackie for sharing these images with myself and my readers.
