Green Moss Wedding Ideas

There's something so beautifully natural about using moss with your décor - especially for spring and summer events. Loving these ideas I came across. What is your favorite use of moss?

1. A moss monogram is perfect for the entrance to your ceremony or reception {can then be re-used after the wedding on your own front door} {from The Magnolia Company}

2. Moss as a centerpiece - a great alternative to flowers and makes a lovely low centerpiece for easy conversation {from Martha Stewart}

3. A moss tiered cake makes another great centerpiece and a great conversation starter too {from Pretty Little Weddings | photo by Tonya Joy}

4. Moss used on birch chargers is super clever {via Bronze Budget Bride}

5. Moss covered table numbers - hang them from an elegant branched centerpiece with beaded garlands and candles {from Camlie Inc}

6. Grapevine hearts covered in moss - perfect for entrance ways as well as décor on the backs for chairs {from Teresa's Plants and More}

Plantable Wedding Invitations + Suites for Eco-Friendly Weddings

Daisy Days has a beautiful selection of plantable invitations with coordinating invitations, response cards, thank you notes, place cards, favor tags, menu cards and some of the designs even have save the date cards. Not only do you have beautifully matched plantable suites, but each of the items are printed on recycled seeded paper for planting by your guests/recipients.

Some of the popular Plantable Invitation Themes include the following:

Sand Dollar Plantable Wedding Collection
There are several legends of the sand dollar. Some say they are lost coins of mermaids and other find Christian symbolizism in the five holes and dove shaped interior. Yet, I'm fairly certain, most would agree that sand dollars remind you of the beach making this collection perfect for summer and destination weddings.

Chevron Plantable Wedding Collection
The chevron pattern has quickly become very popular for events and for good reason. It's a pattern that can be implemented in many colors and even in the equally popular ombré pattern. This bold pattern can make a big statement in any room and even more specifically on your invitation.

Retro Lantern Plantable Wedding Collection
With this collection that is a blast from the past you can make your wedding choices eco-friendly, so "today can be tomorrow's retro".

Two Hearts Plantable Wedding Collection
When your guests plant the seeded paper from this collection, "your love will visibly grow into beautiful wild flowers". Such a perfect choice since on your wedding day it's been said "two hearts beat as one".

Photo Shoot : an eco-vintage fall themed bridal shower with mini cakes

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES . . .
color palette:
red, orange and brown
theme: bridal shower or wedding

I can't believe it, but it's already time for the October Wedding Vendor Challenges {if you are interested in signing up for challenges starting again in January, please let me know, I'd love to have you}. To kick things off this month - I have a lovely eco-vintage shoot from eco-stylist Michelle Savin. In this bridal shower inspired shoot Michelle decided to go vintage and use the natural colors from apples and pears. Invite Site provided paper free invitations that a bride can actually create herself.

The location brought this fall bridal shower to the sea, at McKenna's on the Bay in Long Beach, CA. Michelle used a beautiful birch centerpiece by Nisie's Enchanted Florist. Natural wicker, autumn orange glassware, and natural palm wax candles from the Goodlight Natural Candles gave the table an autumn glow. The orange glassware illuminated with good ol’ fashioned sweet tea to accompany.

The rich pomegranate red juice was presented in an antique milk jar, which Michelle found at a local vintage shop, along with much of the wood pieces. Michelle used many varieties of apples and pears to achieve color in her presentation. For dessert she presented minature wedding cakes, a cake trifle, and candied apples from Creatively CaramelIn this vendor challenge, Michelle proves that not everything has to be brand new for your bridal event and color can be achieved from natural sources.

Wednesday Wedding Accessory : Genuine Rose Petals

Pave the way for the bride and decorate your aisle with genuine rose petals. They are a sweet and green alternative to faux petals and fresh petals that tend to get crushed before they are even used. Be sure to check with your venue to ensure that their use is approved before you go ahead with them. Great for flower girl baskets or when used in place of confetti. These petals from The Wedding Outlet are packaged in a clear acetate box with satin ribbon in a coordinating color. They are available in pastel pink, purple, red and white to compliment any wedding theme.

Plantable, Eco-Friendly Wedding Confetti + another goodie

Looking to sprinkle a little eco-friendly love on your wedding day? Daisy Days has just added a ton of new colors to their heart and flower shaped plantable confetti styles. The eco-friendly wedding confetti is perfect for putting inside pew cones or even used inside plantable favor boxes {available at Daisy Days}.

There's now even shredded confetti and the all new Growfetti Handmade Recycled Plantable Wildflower Seed Confetti. This handmade plantable confetti is 100% biodegradable, 100% recycled paper and grows into wildflowers flowers when planted.

And, lastly, I'd want to share with you a unique wedding item. There's a new twist on the unity sand ceremony and it's the Unity Sand Frame from Daisy Days. For this special sand ceremony - you simply pour the sand into the bottom of the frame. Then, with a special Keeper Plate, you seal the sand in place. This prevents the sand from mixing or leaking. You can then add other items to the frame to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Some items might include flowers from your bridal bouquet, decorations, or even shells from a destination wedding. You can change the picture at anytime without disturbing the sand. LOVE THIS!!!
