A Vintage Sunflower Wedding Invitation is unveiled + Anniversary Wishes

Happy Friday! Another week is coming to a close and today starts a weekend of joy, amazement, love and a bit of sadness all wrapped up together. Today my oldest daughter starts 1st grade - she told me last night that she was excited about school but sad too because she will miss seeing her little sister {who is now 11 months} during the day.  I'll miss HER as the house will be super quiet now during morning nap time. And, tomorrow, September 7th is the 11th wedding anniversary for myself and hubby. To celebrate, like I do every year on the blog - I have put together a fun little sunflower inspired post. Sunflowers were our wedding flower and I still LOVE them. To celebrate our anniversary, I have designed a brand new addition to my etsy shop, the sunflower wedding invitation. If we were "re-marrying" each other this year, I would most likely design my invitations to look like this . . . a little bit of a vintage touch with earthy colors.

Here's a couple beautiful sunflower centerpiece arrangements that I just LOVE . . .

PS: I saw this deal for a free photo book from Shutterfly in my email and wanted to pass it along as it would make a great gift idea {maybe for a late anniversary gift? I could do a page for each of the trips we've taken}. From now until September 11th, you can receive one free 20-page 8x8 hard photo cover photo book. The coupon code is SUMMERBOOK

Unique Wedding Flowers: Concentric Wedding Bouquets {aka Biedermeier}

I was so intrigued when I saw the most unique wedding bouquet on pinterest this week {shown below}. I immediately re-pinned it and went to read more about it and then of course I wanted to get the definition of a "Concentric Wedding Bouquet". According to wikipedia, this type of bouquet is known as the "Biedermeier-style bouquet, with concentric rings of flower types and colours" {see sketch below}.

Concentric Biedermeier Wedding Bouquet - so unique and so pretty

The concentric bouquet shown above was created by weaving together metal wires in an umbrella shape with a small plate on the top. The structure was then wrapped in paper thread before violets, Pilea, and Typha leaves were glued to the form. [Floral Design is by Sergey Malyuchenko with Photography by Katya Yeliseyeva]

Farmers Market Wedding Ideas {15 Fun Ways to Use Local Resources}

Happy Monday. Hope all of my readers had a terrific weekend. I was originally going to put together an inspiration board with just lettuce ideas for weddings. But, then we {myself and hubby along with our two girls} went to a local farmer's market this weekend, I decided to expand the inspiration (with 15 ideas). "Farm to Table" is a big hit lately - especially with it being peak season for Farmers Markets. I thought it would be fun to show you how "fresh produce" and summer florals can be used at your own wedding {or party} to bring the tastes and smells of the season to your event. And, of course you will find some fun paper goodies to tie the entire theme together.

Summer Wedding Centerpieces : sugared fruit and key limes with peonies

I have a bit of a new obsession and that is perusing all the amazing online publications that are being published on Issuu - I remember using them for the initial publications of the Best Wedding Sites Magazine. But, back then it wasn't mobile ready and had a few other quirks that made me switch to another publisher. But now, I'm LOVING all the amazing publication designs I am seeing. Makes me want to almost start designing the magazines again. But, I know how much time goes into the creation of the publications and I'm just not able to do that at this time. With 2 girls now, I'm wanting to soak up every second I have with them - our youngest is already 9 months and summer is half over. Where is the time going?

One of the many publications I have found on Issuu is Delighted Magazine. Their latest issue features 3 gorgeous centerpieces that are just perfect for summer weddings and even bridal showers. Two of the three I'm sharing with you today, so you will want to be sure to browse through the issue online for the third centerpiece idea. Plus, you can find the the complete supply list and DIY steps to re-create these beauties yourself in the magazine. The Sugared Fruit centerpiece above was created by Darling and Daisy.  The centerpiece with peonies and key limes was created by Waiting on Martha

A Red, White and Blue Wedding Bouquet

As we head into the July 4th holiday I originally planned to show you a red bouquet, a white bouquet and a blue bouquet. But, then I came across this lovely bouquet that had everything in one. I LOVE the addition of the pearls which could be added to any bouquet - so simple, yet makes such a statement.
