The pineapple, known as the symbol of hospitality and warm welcome, is a perfect choice for a wedding theme whether it's a destination wedding or a summer affair. Here's some wonderful pineapple inspiration along with recipes featuring pineapple . . .Image Credits and Resources:

Navy Blue and Yellow Wedding {with calla lilies} con't . . .

Last Monday, I featured a calla lily inspired yellow and navy blue wedding for a bride (via Kricia Morris Photography), and today I have a few additional images to share with you. This past week, Carissa of JL Designs posted images from a beautiful wedding on her blog where she created floral arrangements with yellow callas and the bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses. Exactly what the bride was looking for, so I just had to feature a few of the photos, taken by Sweet Monday Photography.
You can see more images from this wedding at JL Designs' blog and Sweet Monday Photography's blog.

Navy Blue and Yellow Wedding {with calla lilies}

Ideas and Inspirations | Photos and Galleries
Color Palette: navy blue and yellow
Motif: calla lilies

Today's inspiration board was created after Kricia of Kricia Morris Photography asked if anybody had any yellow and blue wedding inspiration boards created. She has a bride that is planning a wedding and wants yellow calla lilies with navy blue dresses. Oh . . . and she's anti-beach, so the look is a classic, elegant, garden setting. I set to work right away to put something together for her, and this is what I've come up with. I found the wedding cake and then stumbled upon the invitation which I thought was a terrific pairing with the cake detailing. I kept the bouquet subdued and went all out with a yellow one for the bridesmaids so there was a wonderful contrast between the yellow and the blue of their dresses. I love adding the blueberries into the champagne for the extra little pop of blue. And, for those that might be wondering, according to iflorist, calla lily means Majestic Beauty.

PS: this is the first board I've put together where I've had specifics to adhere to. I typically pick a theme on my own and go with it. I enjoyed the challenge with this one - thank you Kricia for letting me put this together for you and your bride.

An Exclusive from Erica O'Brien Cake Design

I'm so happy to bring you an exclusive announcement before it's even added to the designer's web site. Drum Roll, Please . . . Erica O'Brien Cake Design in Long Beach, California is launching a brand new line of edible goodies and to explain the new line, here's Erica herself: "Although cupcakes have been in vogue for quite some time now, until now they've been somewhat kitschy. Erica O'Brien's interpretation elevates the wedding cupcake to the same level as the wedding cake: sophisticated, modern, and in this case, earth-friendly. The wedding cupcakes seen here are filled with passionfruit curd and covered with fondant, and wrapped in elegant recycled paper to match the invitations."

I am loving this refreshingly modern approach to the cupcake. And, to go along with the stylish cupcakes, a moss green and periwinkle blue wedding inspiration board follows . . .

A Modern Twist on Ice Cream and Weddings

Motif:
ice cream cones

When you think of weddings and ice cream, you might be thinking of ice cream as being the perfect ending to a summer wedding. In addition to couples having an ice cream truck or cart make a stop at their reception, I've come across some great presentation ideas along with other ways you can incorporate ice cream cones into either your bridal shower or wedding festivities. (my fav's have got to be the flowers in ceramic cone holders and the ice cream cone necklace)

For those interested in having an ice cream truck stop by, I found a beautiful Real Wedding {photographed by The Wiebners} that features an ice cream truck on a 100 degree day in PA on June 7th (be sure to scroll all the way down - the ice cream pics are last).

And, lastly, I just had to share with you these fun photos from Sakura Photography that features the bride, groom and wedding party enjoying their ice cream cones - love this photo shoot.
