Happy Friday! Can you believe Christmas is next Wednesday? Starting this afternoon, my daughter is home from school for the next 2 weeks . . . something she is truly excited about, and I think her little sister will LOVE it too. I have another post coming up a bit later this morning and then another one on Monday and then I'll be off on Tuesday and Wednesday but back on Thursday and Friday with some fun inspiration boards for the winter season.

Since the year is nearly over, I had to put together an inspiration board with the Pantone Color of the Year for 2014. If you haven't heard, it's Radiant Orchid. I love purple for weddings, but this color is not easy to find. It's not quite a true lavender, it's not plum, violet or lilac. It's a bit of a bright purple, but still pretty. It will be interesting to see it incorporated into weddings and parties next year. And, now here is my Radiant Orchid Christmas Wedding Inspiration Board.

My favorite part of this inspiration board, besides those delicious looking gluten free sugar plums, is how the orchid on the wedding dress resembles a snowflake {perfectly tying into the Christmas/Winter theme}. What is your favorite part of this inspiration board?

I can't believe it - but It's officially time to kick off the holiday season {although holiday music has been playing in our house for a while now}. I'll be taking today off to start the holiday decorating of our house. We're planning to put our tree up while the little one naps so it doesn't turn into an all day project. We'll see if our plan actually works. To help get your holiday season started, I wanted to share with you an inspiration board from the archives. This was probably one of my favorites - I just love the frosted look with the red and white and touches of soft winter green.

With many new brides {and vendors} visiting my blog, I wanted to share another inspiration board from the archives as I'm thinking many of my current readers may not have seen this one yet. My favorite ideas for a winter wedding in plaid include:
1. providing your guests with wool plaid blankets to stay warm
2. use picnic tables with wool blankets on top as the tablecloths
3. let your bridesmaids wear a plaid skirt with a fancy black cardigan
4. for dessert, a red velvet cake seems like the perfect sweet treat

Today's inspiration board is from the archives as I try to spend a good portion of today getting caught up on my inbox. My daughter's 7th birthday was last Thursday and then I spent much of Friday planning and prepping for her "horse themed" party with her friends on Saturday. And, then yesterday I participated in my first craft fair. PS: I have extra stock of my paper goodies as I made quite a few sets of everything. I will be posting them online very soon for all to see {and purchase if your wish}. You might remember my post from Tuesday that shared my secrets on creating inspirations boards in 5 easy steps. In the post I used snippets from my online search for creating an acorn themed inspiration board. Today I have the finished inspiration board to share with you. What I loved combining was bit of gold and pearly whites along with the typical "brown" acorn colors. Something a little unexpected.
