A Falling in Love Contest + Celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary

Today is a day filled with emotion for me as not only am I due any day now with baby number 2, but our daughter starts kindergarten today and it's the 10th wedding anniversary for hubby and myself. I have no idea where the time has gone. Seems like we were just planning our wedding with sunflowers. To celebrate our special day with you, I've created this downloadable 8x10 Sunflower Love Print that features a quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Simply click either the image itself or the download button at the end of this post to print out your very own copy which can then be framed.

Fast forward 6 years from our wedding day {plus a few months} and we welcomed our daughter into the world. And, now fast forward another 6 years and we're about to welcome another little girl into our lives. We have so much fun together and of course knowing he was "the one" was pretty easy as there came a point when dating that I realized I didn't want to be without him :) It's always been wonderful to just sit and chat and be best friends with each other and support one another in happy and sad times. Of course, after having a child, and now another one - you tend to fall in love again multiple times and realize all over again why he's "the one".

And, speaking of "the one", be sure to enter the Falling in Love Contest starting on September 17th for your chance to win a $5,000 Helzberg Diamonds gift card to design the dream ring of your choice. Helzberg Diamonds welcomes your best stories, photos and videos about the special man or woman in your life to tell them how you knew your significant other was “The One”. {PS: I'll be reminding you about the contest again as the date for entries draws closer}.

A Personal Post . . . Life is full of unexpected twists, turns + burgers

As many of you probably noticed there was no giveaway yesterday as Christine, the associate editor of BestWeddingSites.com, came by to leave a message for everyone. {But, good news is that I have a GREAT giveaway headed your way next Tuesday}

I don't often get too personal on my blog but I feel that I need to share what's going on in case I can't respond to emails as timely as usual. I have been sick much of my 2nd pregnancy - what started as the typical sick feeling the first few months then became two sinus infections, back to back. I was then better for a week before somehow catching a cold that turned into a nasty cough. This past week, the cough turned even worse making it hard to keep down food without getting sick {sorry for TMI}.

This past Monday night I ended up having to be admitted to the hospital for tests to be run and came home Tuesday morning at 3 am. The good news is it's not pneumonia as my drs thought it might be, and I'm somehow still hydrated enough which is great news for the baby and me. They say the cough is allergy/asthma related. I'm very glad to know it's not pneumonia, but after all this time, I just so wish the drs could easily help me get over this. I'm now taking cough medicine with codeine in hopes of calming the cough so that I can eat and keep food in me while my throat heals from the coughing. But, I'm left to wonder - what happens when I stop the cough medicine? I certainly can't keep taking it day and night for longer than a few days.

While I rest and pray for answers and a final cure, I'll be hoping I'm well enough for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend to enjoy some fun outdoor games with my daughter and hubby. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. Oh, and of course I'd love a nice big juicy burger . . . hey, I can't help it, I'm still craving lots of good food LOL!!!! Maybe this burger will do the trick? {recipe from Jaime Oliver here}

Thank you all, Brenda's Wedding Blog is back here, each day

So very excited to share this news with you today - Brenda's Wedding Blog is back . . . right here . . . each day. Like everything in life, it's all about "trial and error" / "live and learn". I tried what I thought would be a good move and I switched my daily blogging over to my wedding directory, Best Wedding Sites. But, something was telling me it might not be right for my readers. So, I put a question out there on Friday and the response was unanimous. All my readers prefer my daily blog at Brenda's Wedding Blog. So that is where I shall stay blogging. And, on Best Wedding Sites . . . you will find the vendor guide, bridal show listings, inspiring galleries and more. But, the blog is back here, along with the weekly Tuesday giveaways. And, hopefully by later this week I will have the headers re-worked so they link between each other more easily. Oh, and another amazing tidbit - I have broken all kinds of traffic records this weekend on this blog - thank you all so much for staying loyal and I cannot wait to keep inspiring you each day.

I'm in need of your advice and input as you are my audience . . .

Ok, it's time I ask for your feedback as I REALLY need to know from my followers {brides, family members and friends of brides and vendors} . . . do you prefer Brenda's Wedding Blog for my daily blog or do you like Best Wedding Sites? I'm going to be totally honest as that is how I always am with my business . . . I notice that traffic is still way up on this blog since I've been posting on Best Wedding Sites and I really want my readers to see the latest as well keeping my current positions in the search engines. I had wanted to condense everything into one site to be a bit more manageable, but I'm not sure that's logical given the latest reports. Maybe I should bring everything back to this blog for daily inspiration and say that it's "brought to you by Best Wedding Sites"? And, then keep Best Wedding Sites for the vendor finding directory and inspiring galleries? Since both sites can easily link between each other, maybe this is the best solution? I also feel that with Brenda's Wedding Blog, it's a bit more personal since you know it's coming from me? Is that crazy thinking?

I feel this is the best solution based on the viewing numbers, but I really need to hear from you as not only do comments make my day, but I love hearing from my readers. It totally makes me smile away when brides write to me to say something like this as one bride recently did . . . "Thank you for giving us Brides an awesome Blog to read!!"
