Photo Shoot : a stylish and modern eco-friendly Spring tablescape

Today we continue featuring modern spring themed photo shoots from the Wedding Vendor Challenge for March. I asked vendors across the US and Canada to team up and create an intimate tablescape for two with a dessert display. I supplied a color palette for all vendors to work with and for this shoot it was green with accent colors of brown, cream and pale yellow. It could be St. Patrick's Day related, although this wasn't a requirement, so you'll be seeing a bit of both this week. I also asked each team to provide at least one DIY design. For today - the 3rd Wedding Vendor Challenge for March is from Stephanie A Smith Photography in Florida with the beautiful paper goods being designed by Kate Eileen Emmert Custom Paper Goods . . .

Stephanie has always loved eco-minded options and writes . . . "I'm so glad that the wedding industry has begun to embrace and recognize alternative options for weddings that are much friendlier for the environment. Because I am a photographer I use nature as my backdrop, so anything I can do to preserve the beauty of the earth I will."

I love how Stephanie and her florist incorporated wildflowers and herbs - including wheat grass with the napkin ties, broccoli into the bouquet and lavender on top of the cupcakes.

The white chairs were salvaged from Stephanie's neighbors trash pile and were then spray painted bright white and given sod seat cushions. Seating was for the bride, groom, flower pup and ring barker - so cute.

Tree stump chargers were placed under antique milk glass plates and the menu cards, cupcake name tags, and seat name tags were all made with burlap and natural hemp twine. The cupcakes were made by Stephanie herself and after the shoot she was able to share them with her neighbors.

I love hearing Stephanie's goal of this shoot . . . "I think the goal of this shoot was to show how eco-alternative can not only be better for the environment but just as stylish and modern as any wedding decor."

Photo Shoot : a romantic picnic in the park for St. Patrick's Day

It's time for this months Wedding Vendor Challenge - starting today thru Thursday I'll be featuring the modern spring themed photo shoots from the Wedding Vendor Challenge for March. So, here we go - the first Wedding Vendor Challenge for March from Green Orchid Events in Las Vegas . . . a romantic picnic in the park . . .

Photography was provided by Adam Trujillo Photography with all paper goods being designed by Ashley of Lemon and Lavender and the desserts were from Peridot Sweets.

Juliet wanted to design a romantic picnic set up at a park. All desserts had hints of traditional Irish flavors such as the Stout Chocolate Cake {with Irish Whiskey and Cream Cheese Frosting}, Chocolate Covered Sandwich Cookies {with Irish Cream Filling} and Irish cream chocolate ganache shots.

Don't you just love the desserts suspended in the glass holders from the trees?

DIY Download : Ashley of Lemon and Lavender is here to share with us the Sláinte water bottle labels. They will fit 1 liter bottles and can be printed on text paper and glued in place or you can buy the 8.5 x 11 adhesive paper and print and crop. Simply print out the pdf after downloading via this link from Scribd and follow Ashley's directions from above. {the download link is directly underneath the item title in the right column once on Scribd}.

A huge thank you to Juliet, Adam Ashley and Peridot Sweets for kicking off the 2nd Wedding Vendor Challenge week with a lovely picnic for St. Patrick's Day. Please stay tuned all week as I have more wonderful designs and ideas coming your way.

Photo Shoot : a San Diego Beach Valentine's Day {non-traditional style}

Ending the week of Valentine's Day Wedding Vendor Challenges is a spectacular shoot from Aleah and Nick of Valley & Co. Their inspiration for this Valentine's Day challenge was to create a non-traditional feeling for a sweetheart dining table. In true Valley & Co. fashion, Aleah and Nick staged their teak table and chairs on Mission Beach. It was a beautiful, cloudless day and the sunshine was shining - don't you just wish you could leave everything behind and jump right into these photos? With all the snow we still have to melt up here in upstate NY, this shoot makes me long for summer. Since Aleah and Nick enjoy spending their Valentine's Day relaxing on the beach or riding their beach cruisers, they thought "what better place to shoot our inspiration than on our beach?" I couldn't agree more :)

Joining Aleah and Nick with Team Five {and the last of the Valentine's Day Wedding Vendor Challenge photo shoots} was Elle G. Photography, Ariela of RBK Creations for the stunning fabric button floral bouquet, Samantha of Papermints for the beautiful paper goods, and Lydia of Sweet Lydia's for the yummy mini smores.

For Aleah and Nick, Valentine's Day is subtle and comfortable. And, in their own words I will let them explain their table design . . . "We dressed our teak table wtih a crisp white linen and lined it with a simple satin runner to give it a pop of color. Vintage French plates from Nick's parents and antique spoons from Aleah's grandmother flanked our place settings. Old candlesticks added a touch of glamour to this otherwise coastal table. Our fabric flowers were carefully placed in a simple white vase."

And, just like the other shoots this week, I have another downloadable goodie for your from Samantha of Papermints. She has made her recipe cards available to you. Simply print out the recipes cards from Scribd, trim and you're good to go. {the download link is directly underneath the item title in the right column}

And, as I wrap up this week's AMAZING Valentine Inspired Photo Shoots, I will leave you with Aleah and Nick's advice . . . "When creating your Valentine's Day table, get creative and step away from decor purchased down the Valentine's Day aisle! Look to your own stock of heirloom pieces and create a look that's comfortable and timeless."

Words can't express how thankful and appreciative I am of all the vendors that helped make my first Wedding Vendor Challenge such a success. I've had so much fun working with you all on this week's feature and I look forward to working with you all again on future challenges. For all vendors - the March vendor challenge is underway and filling up - so if you'd like to be placed on the list as teams are formed, please complete this form so I can collect your information.

Photo Shoot : a cute and whimsical Valentine's Day sweetheart table

Continuing today with another wonderful Wedding Vendor Challenge Photo Shoot is a whimsical sweetheart table photographed in Banff, Canada. Angie of Get Married in Banff says she chose the base of the sweetheart table as a charcoal taffeta table cloth which looked stunning with the pinks, reds and Pantone Color of the Year Honeysuckle Pink. For this week long featured challenge, I've asked vendors across the US and Canada to team up and create an intimate Valentine's Day dinner tablescape for two with a dessert display. And, like the past three photo shoots this week, there is also a DIY goodie provided.

Team Four features the talent of Angie and Reg of Get Married in Banff, Carey of Lasso'd Moon, Shannon of Twirlie Whirlies, Corrine of Buds and Blooms, and stunning photography from Jessika of December Photography. Angie explains the idea behind the shoot . . . "We wanted to include something fun into the table because the pinwheels were so cute and whimsical so the donuts were added as well as the almonds. Every couple likes to snack on sweet treats and we thought the donuts would be something really unique."

Loving Carey's invitation design that reads "You're invited to an intimate dinner for two on this our first Valentine's Day".

The Juniper Hotel in Banff was chosen as the location for the shoot because of the slate wall in their Bistro. And, don't you just love the pinwheel installation on the grey wall?

The flowers are in tin cans covered in lovely patterned paper that matches the pinwheels. Love this idea.

And, I have more printable goodies for you today. Carey has created a blank Love menu and a Love Menu with the courses pre-filled in. If you open this file in an editing program you can swap out the food choices for your own creations. Simply print out either the blank menu or the pre-filled out menu from Scribd, trim and you're good to go. {the download link is directly underneath the item title in the right column}

A huge thank you to Team 4 for continuing the week with yet another beautiful inspiration shoot, this time from chilly Canada. What a gorgeous tablescape and delicious dessert display with beautiful paper goods. Continue to stay tuned as we'll be finishing up the week with one more Valentine Inspired photo shoot.
