"We were thrilled at the success of our Chicago launch! The Chicago Bridal Market came together for one night, showcasing the ultimate trends for the year ahead," says Wedding Salon Founder and renowned Celebrity Event Planner, Tatiana Byron.
The ultimate trend for weddings in 2011 will be the Lounge. Heffernan Morgan Designs took lounge appeal to a new level with purple and psychedelic fabrics covered with 15 foot high silver angel wings. Mirrored tables covered with candles enhanced the feel of a 70's era lounge creating a romantic setting for wedding guests. The purple trend transpired throughout all aspects of the event, from purple orchids to purple linens, showing that the color for the year ahead will be shades of purples and lavenders.

Bright colors also applied to wedding gowns, where Vera Wang Chicago and Belle Vie Bridal Couture showed that 'traditional white' is no longer a wedding staple. Vera Wang and Giselle showcased gowns in various shades of blues and black. Wedding gowns, cinched with silver-encrusted belts a la Chelsea Clinton, with laser cut, swirling organza, floated on models in true fairytale fashion.

Textured detail applied to more than couture gowns, with paisley linens, textured linens and intricate textures on centerpieces throughout the event. The Registry @ Bloomingdale's showcased the amazing trend of mosaic accents with their mosaic vases filled with cascading purple tulips and white roses. The Wedding Salon also showed that the go-to choice for floral in 2011 will be orchids, hydrangea and roses in various shades of purple and white with green accents.

The traditional wedding cake is no longer a must for 2011, as brides will opt for cupcake towers and truffle towers that resemble sky-high wedding cakes. truffle truffle created the ultimate chocolate 'cake,' with tier upon tier of decadent bite-sized truffles in exotic flavors such as mocha, elderflower, champagne and even chili truffles. Comfort food will continue to be a top choice in catering for 2011 with brides opting for twists on classics such as Truffle Mac n' Cheese, Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and Mini Bison Sliders.
