Giveaway : Win a DVD of the BRIDE WARS movie + more

Paper Shouts and 20th Century Fox have teamed up to promote the release of the Bride Wars movie available on Blu-Ray and DVD on April 28th. One lucky reader will win a copy of the Bride Wars DVD and a $25 Paper Shouts gift certificate. {please see end of post for a great shopping discount from Paper Shouts}

Paper Shouts, known for "posh notes for life's big moments", offers invitations for bridal events and other special occasions in Traditional, Vintage and Modern designs to reflect your style. Paper Shouts invitations are budget friendly and now eco-friendly too, as all designer shouts are printed on 100% PCW recycled, heavyweight, uncoated paper and are shipped with 50% recycled envelopes.

I can't believe I haven't seen the movie yet, it seems like almost everyone in the wedding industry has. But, if you're like me and never got around to seeing it on the big screen, here's a synopsis of the movie from 20th Century Fox:
Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway), best friends since childhood, are always there for each other, through good times and bad. They even become engaged to be married within a few hours of one another. Together they plan their respective weddings, each to take place at New York’s ultimate bridal destination, the Plaza Hotel. But a clerical error and subsequent clash in wedding dates pits the two brides – neither of whom will step aside – against each other, in a competition that quickly escalates into all-out war.

Contest prize: Bride Wars DVD and a $25 gift certificate to Paper Shouts
Contest Deadline: CONTEST HAS NOW ENDED, WINNER HAS BEEN PICKED
Contest Question(s) to Answer: please leave a comment with your responses to these 2 ?'s:
1. which characters style do you relate more to?
{Emma's traditional, romantic style or Liv's couture, "only the best" approach}
2. which Paper Shouts card {from their Bridal Shouts section} do you like the best?
(be sure to click the links in the left column to see the full collection for each section)

Along with winning the Bride Wars DVD and a $25 gift certificate to Paper Shouts, the selected winner will then be entered into a Grand Prize drawing on the Paper Shouts website. Prizes include movie memorabilia such as the sunglasses worn in the movie by Kate Hudson and a movie one-sheet signed by Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway and the Grand Prize is a great Mexican vacation—6 nights at the CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort and airfare for 2 on AirTran airlines.

And, Paper Shouts is offering all readers of Brenda's Wedding Blog 15% off on any orders placed by May 15th with coupon code BestWed (simply enter code in the promo code box at checkout area and then hit update).

From the Million Dollar Bride Herself

Yesterday afternoon I wrote about the Million Dollar NY Wedding that was to air on Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? last night on The Style Network. After watching the pre-release DVD of the show, I wrote about the bride having a different dress on in one scene of the episode but wore a different dress for the ceremony and reception. I've looked into it and heard back from Monica, the bride. Here is what she said:

"Yes I did change. I had two wedding gowns - a long traditional one for the ceremony, grand entrance and first dance, and a short one for the remainder of the reception."

There seems to be a growing trend towards 2 wedding dresses for the big day. Even if you plan to only have one wedding dress, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this trend.

Million Dollar NY Wedding Airs Tonight

Just a reminder to watch Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? tonight as it's the first million dollar wedding ever for the show. And, it's the first and only wedding ceremony in Bryant Park for the entire year. The show will air tonight on The Style Network at 10 pm.
I just finished watching the show on a pre-release DVD and it's another episode you're sure to enjoy. The couple spares no expense when it comes to the entertainment for their reception at the New York Public Library. Please come back after watching the episode as I'd love to know your thoughts.

Along with the million dollar wedding, the other bride in this episode is VP for fashion designer Nicole Miller, who creates the brides couture wedding gown just for her.

One little thing my eye noticed - the bride for the million dollar wedding appears to have had 2 dresses. The show says her dress was $10,000 when she tried it on for her planner earlier in the episode. But, in the photo above and then again in the show when she looks out the window and sees it raining - that dress is actually different than the one she wears at her ceremony and reception. I'm thinking maybe I didn't view the final cut of the show or she wore a different dress for some photos. I'll try to find out for you.
