Real Wedding : an intimate and vintage DIY wedding in Long Beach

So happy to share the wedding of Diana and Derrick with you today. Just wait until you see Diana's Poetic Licence shoes - LOVE THEM!!!!!! And, her wedding dress is amazing - it's a Sue Wong dress that Diana bought at Saks, so it's not a traditional wedding dress from a wedding boutique. Don't you just love the ruffles? Most of the wedding decorations were done by the bride and groom with the help of her bridesmaid. The homemade details of the wedding were captured perfectly by Anapaul Photographers. The venue for the ceremony was Cooper Arms in Long Beach and the reception was held at Utopia Restaurant in Long Beach.

Diana and Derrick sure know how to have fun - their wedding was full of music, singing and dancing. They even had a musician lead their guests in a procession down the street to their ceremony location. And, when the ceremony ended, they danced and sang "All Night Long" with their guests. And, the danced the Rhumba for their last dance.

I love the photo below - what an amazing photo {great lighting}. I could definitely see this one as a canvas print for Diana and Derricks home.

Thank you so much Paul and Anmarie for sharing this amazing wedding with my readers today. To see more photos from the wedding of Diana and Derrick, please click here. And, to see more from Anapaul Photographers, please visit their blogsite.

Real Wedding : a vintage DIY backyard wedding

Today's wedding from Christine of C Weddings Photography is a lovely homespun affair. The wedding of Jennifer and Richard was held in the bride's parents' backyard in Newbury Park, California. It was a lovely intimate wedding with around 30 guests. Food was all homemade by the bride's mother, aunt and friend. And, the main course was 3 different kinds of lasagna, yummy. The bride even wore a tiara that had been passed down from her grandmother, what a special wedding heirloom.

Thank you Christine {C Weddings Photography} for sharing this wedding with my readers today. You can see more from Christine on her web site and blog.

Cupcake Themed Bridal Shower - Part 1

I wanted to share an idea for a cupcake themed bridal shower with you. Why not offer cards to your guests asking them to offer their sweet advice for the bride-to-be? I've created a printable bridal shower advice card that you can print on your own printer {I suggest heavy card stock} and cut out. It's a pdf with 4 cards to an 8.5x11 sheet. Print as many times as needed for the number of cards you desire and then simply cut the paper in half and then each in half again.

PS - This post was also supposed to have an inspiration board with it. But, we ended up losing power for several hours and then our wireless router died, resulting in no internet connection. A new router had to be purchased and installed which took much longer than it should have. So... please be on the lookout for the inspiration board either later today or tomorrow. update: cupcake themed inspiration board can be seen here

And lastly, the cupcake shop directory will be published later this week. Please let me know what your favorite cupcake shop is and it's location for inclusion in the growing list. update: directory of cupcake shops can be seen here
