Most little girls dream of their wedding day and, for most, their dreams come true on their special day. For others that dream, as well as many other dreams, may come to an abrupt halt when five little words are spoken… “you may have breast cancer”.

As women, we have such a common bond that when something like breast cancer strikes, it doesn’t just affect one woman, it affects us all. Nearly every woman has either had, or knows someone who has had to deal with the heartache of breast cancer.

Together, we can fight breast cancer. To do their part, Alisa Benay Bridal Couture has developed a charitable initiative called 100 Brides for 100K®. The 100 Brides for 100K® program is designed to raise money to promote breast cancer research and breast cancer awareness. Each year, Alisa Benay designs a special, Limited Edition gown. One thousand dollars from the sale of each of these gowns will be donated by Alisa Benay Bridal Couture to various organizations that conduct research toward finding a cure for breast cancer and promote breast cancer awareness. Retailers who sell the Limited Edition gowns are encouraged to match the contribution made by Alisa Benay Bridal Couture. By joining together, the goal is to raise a minimum of $100K each year to help find a cure.

The 2009 Limited Edition gown is called Mirabelle. It is a silk satin, strapless, trumpet gown that comes in French blush. The skirt is comprised of multiple tiers of sheared, silk mesh lace and the bodice is covered with three dimensional, beaded, re-embroidered French Chantilly lace with silk appliqué flowers that have been custom made and imported exclusively for Alisa Benay Bridal Couture.

In addition, partnering with Alisa Benay Bridal Couture in this charitable endeavor is Stephanie London, painter and artist. Stephanie has created a stunning painting of the first Limited Edition gown, Mirabelle. Throughout the year, the names of those who purchase the Mirabelle gown will be entered into a drawing. One name will be drawn to receive this beautiful piece of art which promises to be a very special keepsake for a very special day and a very special cause.

When a bride walks down the aisle wearing the Mirabelle, she will not only have the gown of her dreams, but she will also have contributed to the cause of making the dream of eliminating breast cancer become another dream come true.

You can read more details what brides purchasing gowns from the 100 Brides for 100K ™ collection will receive on Alisa Benay's blog. And, Alisa Benay's wedding collection can be seen on her web site.

Thank you so much Alisa for letting me share this beautiful couture wedding dress with my readers and for all your efforts in helping to fight breast cancer. I'm hopeful that someday we will be able to find a cure for this cancer and others. After having a friend fight this disease and losing a loved one to breast cancer I am beyond words whenever I see a professional like Alisa take on such an amazing challenge in an effort to help fight this disease and raise awareness. Kudos to you Alisa and your amazing talent!
