A Laid-Back and Eclectic New Orleans Wedding with NOLA traditions + Japanese Heritage
Today's featured New Orleans wedding of Michelle and Matt, photographed by Veronica of VeroLuce Photography, is absolutely amazing. The bride's aesthetic is urban-glam meets raw-natural-chic … don't you just love that? When it came time to plan the wedding, Michelle says that a NYC loft wedding was out of the question due to budget, so they had to find a fun location that was "somewhat rough around the edges, with tons charm, mystery, and history". And, with that, New Orleans seemed like the best choice.

On the Michelle and Matt's trip to LA to scout reception locations they stumbled upon Cafe Amelie and began talking with Danny, their manager and co-owner, who happened to be setting up for another wedding. Seeing the "open courtyard with twinkling lights strung through the trees and greenery everywhere juxtaposed against the buildings' raw brick facade and stone fountain" made them fall in love with this venue. And, I have to say, I'm totally in love with it too . . . it would be so romantic to celebrate in your own outdoor space between buildings with twinkling lights all around. Oh, and wait until you see how the couple celebrated {with their guests and locals} in what has become the couples most memorable part of their wedding evening.

Michelle and Matt's New Orleans wedding combined NOLA traditions {from Gumbo to praline favors} with Michelle's Japanese heritage in the form of origami that was used throughout along with her mom wearing a kimono. Their wedding ended with their "very own Second Line parade through the French Quarter, with wedding guests and locals alike dancing, singing, and marching with complete abandon through the streets of New Orleans".

French Quarter of New Orleans Wedding with bride in turquoise bolero

Today's wedding of Seth and Jen is absolutely gorgeous. It took place in the heart of the french quarter in New Orleans and was beautifully photographed by Brett of Siegel Thurston Photography. Now living in San Diego, Seth and Jen had met in New Orleans in their college days. So, there was no question that they would be having their wedding in the city that's full of history. They even did their own florals by picking them up from a flower shop. And, wait until you see the bride in her turquoise bolero - she looks absolutely stunning. I love it!!!!!! {PS: I think I found the etsy shop where it's from, will check on that and post an update}

Update: the designer of the turquoise bolero has been found :) It's designed by Mary and Angelika in Tel-Aviv, Israel on etsy.

And, as Brett Siegel writes . . . "In true New Orleans style they also hired the coolbone Jazz band to play the wedding, Second line, and reception."
