How to Choose Your Perfect Wedding Garter Color

When it comes to choosing the perfect color for your wedding garter - consider your personality and what the color says about you. This color may or may not be a color in your wedding. Since the garter is worn under the wedding dress, you can have lots of fun with it and infuse your own favorite color and style into the garter color of your choice.

Red is for those that are action oriented, outgoing and impulsive. Red stands for strength, health, passion and energy.

Orange is for those that live for being around others and you’re a bit adventurous - loving the outdoors and being full of life. Orange stands for strength, artistic, curious and restless.

Yellow is for those that have strong sense of humor with a vivid imagination. You often enjoy learning and sharing that knowledge with others. Yellow stands for happiness, energy, adventure and warmth.

Green is for those that can feel the need to belong, love and be loved. You’re loyal and down to earth. Green stands for balance, hope, renewal and peace.

Blue is for those that are compassionate, caring and faithful and you often have a need for inner peace and truth. Blue stands for soft, soothing, duty and conservatism.

Purple is for those that have high ambitions and pay attention to the smallest of details. Purple stands for royalty, romance, creativity and harmony.

Pink is for those that often take care of others before worrying about themselves. Others find you warm and approachable. Pink stands for kind, maternal, gentle and delicate.

Brown is for those that prefer a simple lifestyle and you’re hardworking and frugal. Brown stands for safety, comfort, steadiness and kindness.

Black is for those that are natural born leaders yet are careful with sharing details of their life. Black stands for power, mystery, control and being collected.

Grey is for those that prefer to not be the center of attention - rather they prefer to be independent. You like to be in control of your emotions and this results in being indecisive and lacking confidence at times. Grey stands for coolness, conservative, composure, sophisticated.

White is for those that desire simplicity and order - can often be called a perfectionist. You view the world in a positive and optimistic way. White stands for purity, innocence, freshness and youth.

As explained in the article - each role - whether a florist or floral designer - they both provide flowers to customers. But, there is a difference between the two business roles. Floral designers are often based in a studio and focus on creating an aesthetic for weddings, events and corporate functions. While florists can provide flowers for events - they often work in a shopfront setting and create bouquets for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.

If you're a floral designer, I'd love to hear your insight into this? How do your brides come to you when meeting for a consult?

Today I have some spectacular creative wedding inspiration from Wedding Business Club member Marianne Blackham Photography. She recently photographed the intimate vow renewal of Hayley from Fairytale Pursuits.

Marianne and Hayley combined the vow renewal with a styled shoot so Marianne could show how to plan a luxurious and romantic vintage winter wedding in an urban venue. She’s often asked how to make this happen so Marianne is here to share the details so you can successfully re-create this theme yourself.

To add a luxurious touch make sure the place settings reflect that goal.

Include a champagne flute, wine glasses, as well as a glass for water. Make sure there are the appropriate number of plates and utensils, as demonstrated below. 

If the venue is urban but a vintage or romantic feeling is desired then make sure to use decor to reflect that.

For example the DJ brought vintage equipment to add a vintage touch to a very urban venue.  Also look for vintage landmarks around the venue to get pictures at to add a vintage touch . . . as demonstrated below.

Today I'm sharing with you 5 reasons why you don't want to leave your Wedding Day Photo and Video Taking to the Guests on your wedding day ~ the day that you only get one-shot at

With everyone taking snapshots all day long with their mobile devices these days - you may think "why not just let our guests take the photos at our wedding?". Well, I'm here with 5 reasons why you do not want your wedding guests taking the photos and videos of your wedding. 1. Photo Memories

When you have a pro photographer capturing your wedding day, you don't have to think twice about the moments that are so special not being photographed. And, if you have particular photos you want taken - simply let your photographer know. Having the perfect moments captured at just the right time is what the professional photographer is there for. Having gorgeous photos of your special day, makes it easy to relive your wedding again and again.

2. Live Motion Memories

Having photos in an album is wonderful to look back on your day - but having a video is just as special. I mean, just look at this video below - it's absolutely outstanding and certainly not a video that can be put together by a wedding guest. This type of video creation takes professional skill to put together and is such a beautiful keepsake of all the wedding day highlights.

3. Equipment + Lighting

Whether your marrying in a church {where some don't even allow flash} or outside in the bright sun on a beach - the professionals will know the exact equipment and settings for the lighting current lighting situation. I'm almost certain you wouldn't want all dark photos from the church or all washed out photos because of the sun's glare if you let your guests take the photos. The professionals will always know the right equipment for the light that is happening at the current time of photo taking. And, as the lighting situations change as the wedding progresses - the pros are ready for anything and everything.

4. Unobtrusive

You've seen those photos where the photographer is taking a photo and you see all the wedding guests with their iPhones {and iPads sometimes - yikes!} being held in the air to capture the moment too, right? Well, the professionals know the tricks and will be unobtrusive when photographing or videotaping your wedding moments.

5. Unplugged

This last one goes along with number 4, as you don't want your own hired professionals being blocked by a wedding guest trying to jockey for the same photo, do you? The easiest was to avoid this happening is to have an unplugged wedding. Let your guests be want they were invited for - a guest at your wedding. And, of course you can give them access to the wedding gallery after so they can select their own photos that they love - the ones taken from a professionals point of view. Maybe you even gift your wedding guests with photo credit as the wedding favor so they can have the keepsake photos they love.
