the Top 3 English Wedding Styles

guest blogging with Confetti Weddings

I'm happy to welcome Kate of Confetti Weddings to the blog today who will be sharing with us the top three English wedding styles . . . and here is Kate . . .

With the royal wedding on everyone’s lips at the moment, English wedding style is the hottest look of 2011. Prince William and his lovely fiancé, English rose Kate Middleton will be having the grandest of weddings with a multi-million pound, no expenses spared reception.

English wedding style is epitomized by three looks in particular: the grand and vintage, the classic and pretty and the quirky and cool.

Here are Confetti.co.uk’s top three English wedding styles, from the very grand Charleston Affair to the ever so pretty Enchanted Garden to the quirky Cool Brittania, and how you can create these styles for your own wedding.

Charleston Affair : If you love vintage then this 1920s influenced look could be just for you. A luxuriously romantic mixture of gold, cream and vintage pink, decadent jazz-age feathers give this look a very grand and regal feel. Add a touch of golden decadence to your centrpieces with a gold bird cage and fill it with beautiful blooms such as English roses, with a perfectly placed feather to finish it off. Favours come in the shape of tiny ribbon-tied birdcage style boxes which can be filled with the traditional sugared almonds or wrapped chocolates or sweets.

Enchanted Garden is a delicate look that brings the romance of an English summer’s day to your wedding reception, with pretty white doves, enchanting flowers and leaves in a soft palette of greens and peach. This look can be achieved with a white birdcage centrepiece or old fashioned style cupcake stand which can be piled high with either fresh flowers, prettily wrapped cupcakes, or a combination of the two. Pastel coloured topiary trees add a stylish touch, as do the unusual bird place cards which sit neatly on each wine glass in style.

Cool Britannia : For quirky couples looking for something a little different, Cool Britannia is a range that’s ideal for anyone who loves the swinging 60s’ London look. For English-American couples marrying in the States but wanting to reflect something of the British side of their partnership, this is the perfect styling. Think Austin Powers, the red, white and blue of the union jack and all things vibrant, funky and totally cool! Create the look by hanging union jack love hearts from trees and create a very British street party feel with paper chains around your venue interior. Fabulous ‘Feel Good’ soaps make the perfect matching favours for this theme.
