This is one of my "new" favorite ideas . . . why not surprise your guests with something unexpected at dessert time? Your cake can be elegantly designed and when cut into - SURPRISE . . . it's a confetti cake. It's a great way to bring color to your wedding dessert, but without taking away from the formality of a beautifully designed cake in white frosting, like this one from Fantasy Frostings. This cake was created for the wedding of Gabi and Charlie which aired this past Friday on Home and Family on the Hallmark Channel {which sadly I had to miss - more on that later}. 

Home & Family threw the wedding of the season and married Gabi and Charlie after months of their on-air planning. To give the couple a sweet send-off, producers of the show turned to Pasadena, CA based Fantasy Frostings to create the ultimate cake for the bride and groom. After a cake testing, Gabi and Charlie chose a confetti flavored cake that featured a bold, yet elegant, floral embellishment with a touch of bling to bring added sparkle to the couple's wedding day. It's gorgeous, isn't it?

Since getting rid of digital cable and downgrading to basic cable I'll be honest, I don't really feel like we're missing much, but, I really do miss watching Home & Family, especially since Cristina Ferrare came back on as co-host. For those that haven't seen it yet on the Hallmark Channel, Home & Family is a two-hour, weekday lifestyle and ultimate how-to show. They feature segments on cooking, crafting, DIY, fashion, beauty, fitness and more, as well as interviewing celebrity guests and musicians. I loved when Cristina's daughter came on to cook gluten free recipes. {I'll always remember her tip to rinse brown rice pasta in cold water after cooking to prevent it from sticking}
