Photo Shoot : a sweet bridal shower with antique + rustic touches

It's Day 6 of the April Wedding Vendor Challenges - where did this week go? I can't believe tomorrow  is already the last day of the amazing bridal shower photo shoots with inspiring tablescapes and dessert displays. Today's talented team created a beautiful tablescape with this month's color palette of bubble gum pink, mint green and robin's egg blue. The photo shoot took place in Wisconsin with The McCartneys Photography {Kelsy + Butch} and Kim of The Event Essentials creating all the lovely paper goods.

Once I shared the details for this shoot with Kelsy, she said she "had visions of a scene that was very feminine and fun. I wanted to photograph this tablescape outdoors, but in Wisconsin things are still quite brown at this time of the year. That is where the vibrant tablecloth came in! The tablecloth is the bottom half of a prom dress, which we happened to find at a second hand shop in the perfect color! My husband (aka my planning side-kick!) helped choose a location that was interesting with rolling hills, and we let the color of the table fill the space."

Kelsy went antique shopping and found rustic vintage flatware which was also perfect for the DIY cupcakes and petite plates she used. Plus, all of the wear and tear marks they had tied back into the rustic surroundings of the shoot.

Kelsy writes, "To bring in more green and pink amidst all of the blue on the table, I made pink lemonade and gave it a few pops of green with limes and cucumber slices, and also decided that the DIY Cupcakes in a Mason Jar would be cute in pink."

Kelsy said she "wanted to incorporate vibrant candy in some way, which came through in the form of salt water taffy hanging in little jars from the gorgeous canopy-style floral centerpiece! Initially I planned to attempt the dessert display myself. That came to a screeching hault (thankfully!) when I was able to connect with a handful of awesome shops on etsy who were thrilled to paricipate in this challenge. The cotton candy fudge, pink, green & blue truffles, blue bitty bites, and floral napkins are all compliments of their own unique etsy shop owner and I am grateful for their support."

DIY FREEBIE: Kelsy made the super adorable DIY Cupcakes in a Mason Jar per these instructions from My Cakies. However, Kelsy used white cake mix from a box, and added food coloring to bring it to the bubblegum hue she desired. I LOVE the presentation with the sweet label from Kim of The Event Essentials and the spoon tied on with ribbon.

Photo Shoot : Je t’aime in Paradise {french vintage in Hawaii} Pt 2

Earlier this morning I shared with you photos from a French vintage photo shoot that took place in Hawaii. I'm back with even more photos and the details that went into creating this amazing shoot with Karine of Seasons of Life Events and other vendors in and around Oahu, Hawaii. {please see the end of this post for a full vendor list} As I shared in the first post, the idea behind this shoot was to share with couples that no matter the location of their wedding, their own personal style can easily be brought into the wedding and infuse it with their selected venue. You can easily pull in New York chic, Mid-West charm, California glam, or, in this case, French vintage, and infuse it into a tropical backdrop, such as Hawaii. And, now here's all the details on the creation of this beautiful photo shoot.

Fairytale Canopy
Yards of ribbon in the muted shades of white, ivory, pink and yellow were fastened onto a frame and gracefully hung from tree branches to create this spectacular fairytale canopy. Crystals and flowers generated interest and drama while acting as a chandelier to make the space even more intimate and inviting. A lush carpet of white dendronium orchids created a luxurious aisle and perfectly united tropical to French vintage.

Two Layer Fondant-Covered Red Velvet Wedding Cake
A diamond quilted pattern with scalloped trim embossing defined the bottom layer while a pale pink fondant ribbon and slip bow trimmed the top layer. A bronze applique, with gum paste buttons and a couple silhouette, perfectly accented the cake. Pink garden roses and feathers added the finishing touch.

Wedding Favors
Favors were wrapped in textured paper with handcrafted bows of muslin, ribbon and feathers

Reception Table
The reception table welcomed guests with a table number chart backed in muslin and framed with an antique looking, white-washed frame. Botanical pictures and clustered candles of various heights tied the table together.

Feather Wreath
Dangling playfully overhead of the reception table was a whimsical wreath of white feathers and flowers while crystals draped down from the tree branches, finishing off a very welcoming stop for guests.

Sweetheart Table
Dressed with lace and rich bronze fabric. Several small ivory vases were clustered together and filled with pale garden roses, white roses, and Phalaenopsis orchids. Amber colored candle holders and stemware added sophistication and drama.

Wedding Guest Table
Square white plates on the guest tables updated the setting while ribbons placed under each plate added a simple detail with a big impact. Elegant centerpieces using the muted tones, kept the tables true to the French vintage ambiance.

Thank you so much to Karine for sharing such a gorgeous photo shoot that is filled to the brim with inspiration for my readers today. While this inspirational shoot was designed for a wedding, I can easily see it being used for an elegant garden bridal shower as well.

Photo Shoot : Je t’aime in Paradise {french vintage in Hawaii}

When Karine of Seasons of Life Events emailed me this photo shoot I was in awe. It's absolutely breathtaking. I'll be featuring the shoot in two parts - first up is the overall shoot along with details from Karine on the shoot. Next up will be the detail photos that I just LOVE. Karine wrote that wedding professionals in Hawaii often encounter destination brides who think that they have to have a tropical themed wedding although they have a love for other designs and decor. Karine says it is they're passion to share with brides from all over the country that no matter the location of their wedding, they can bring in their own personal style and infuse it with their selected venue. Having a particular love for all things vintage, Karine and her team are delighted to be able to present a little bit of vintage french decor in a tropical setting . . . Hawaii.

As wedding professionals with a passion for design, Karine wants "couples planning a wedding in a destination location to imagine tropical décor combined with delightful options. Pull in New York chic, Mid-West charm, California glam, or, in this case, French vintage, and infuse it into a tropical backdrop".

This French vintage photo shoot took place at the beautiful Moli'i Gardens at Kualoa Ranch on the island of Oahu. The gardens overlook an an ancient Hawaiian fish pond and the tropical greenery provided a lush background for the theme. With muted shades of white, ivory, pink and yellow and the whimsy of feathers, French ambiance was combined with tropical paradise.
