Gilles Montezin {known as a designer of ready-to-wear} is introducing his first bridal collection. The following is taken from the press release I received: "With this bridal collection Montezin seeks to escort women down the aisle with the same decadence and couture quality that is his trademark."
And following, are more excerpts from the press release
{as it's best told in the original format}:
For inspiration, Montezin harnessed the drama and elegance of the opera - paying tribute to the art’s most distinguished composers, divas, and performances with each hand-constructed wedding dress. Drawing from his time designing costumes at The Opera Bastille in Paris, Montezin embodies the spirit of the time-honored art. Montezin's series of 16 gowns possess the couture feel, his signature fabric manipulation, and accessible modernity.
With this emphasis on cut and shape came the discovery of new boning and bodice construction methods. The most groundbreaking of these techniques is an optional body shaper called Le Cinch - coined by the designer himself. Le Cinch is an abbreviated interpretation of the traditional corset that can be worn under the dress that nearly doubles its predecessor’s figure-enhancing effects. The dresses are less confining and achieve the classic hourglass silhouette with unprecedented comfort.
The collection is available in sizes up to 18W. Larger sizes are available via special order. Dresses range from $4,000 to $7,000 retail. For more information please visit www.GillesMontezin.com or call (646) 755-3711.
