Happy Friday. With the hope that spring will soon be on it's way in the northeast, I created an inspiration board that makes me thing of spring with it's soft pastel colors. This inspiration board started when I pinned the bridal sash from Fancie Strands and the pearls in the vase on pinterest. Isn't that such a brilliant idea for a vase filler instead of seeing the flower stems?
With the freezing cold temperatures and almost daily snow squalls here in the Northeast that amount to an inch or less of white "confectioner sugar" as I like to call it, my mind has wondered to Winter Wedding Cakes. I decided to scroll thru my wedding cakes pinterest board of just under 600 pins to pick out my favorites for the winter season. When thinking of a winter wedding cake, you don't have to think of just snowflakes or pine cones . . . how about a cable knit sweater? Or maybe a cardinal? Or pine boughs with red berries atop a naked cake? As we near Valentine's Day, I think it'd be great to add touches of red. Maybe cranberries as the trim around the cakes layers? Do you have a favorite cake from the ones shown below?

Today's styled engagement session is titled "Beautiful Day in May" and took place at the Schedel Arboretum and Gardens in Elmore, Ohio. The photos by Ben and Les of Style & Story Creative are beyond stunning, especially the ones with the huge pink tree blossoms behind the gorgeous couple. The bride-to-be's beautiful lace dress with the black bow inspired me to create a brand new invitation template for my shop, Brenda's Marketplace. You can find the print at home template for the Vintage Lace Wedding Invitation here and the rest of the spectacular engagement session below the invitation . . .
