Inspiration Board : Pink Lemonade and Lace Weddings

With it officially feeling like summer in the northeast, I've been starting to crave pink lemonade. So to satisfy my craving and omit placing the added sugar in my body - I opted to put together an inspiration board instead with pink lemonade and pink lace - plus a touch of light grey as it just pairs so beautifully with pink.

Color Palette: pink and grey

Wedding Inspiration Board : navy blue and fuchsia ruffles

There's just something about the color combo of navy blue with fuschia that just looks amazing together. I love it for fun bridal showers and even classy weddings. This particular inspiration board has a bit of a ruffle flair to it and all of the items shown below are from etsy.

Photo Shoot : April bridal showers bring May flowers

Can't believe the week of April Wedding Vendor Challenges has come to an end. But, not before I share with you one last lovely photo shoot with a great DIY wedding favor {there's even one made just for me, love that}. I have enjoyed this week so much and being able to share with you all of the amazing bridal shower photo shoots with inspiring tablescapes and dessert displays. Today's talented team created a fun bridal shower based on "April Showers Bring May Flowers" with this month's color palette of bubble gum pink, mint green and robin's egg blue. The photo shoot took place in California with Jacin of Lovely Little Details and Gladys of Gladys Jem Photography. Jacin is so clever - wait until you see all of the fun little goodies she incorporated into this tablescape.

Wellies with baby's breath and hydrangeas as a "vase" to represent the rainy weather and a peat moss pot with malted milk balls and green pixy stix to represent grass

Pink carnations for a simple floral design using bud vases and an antique watering can

Mini pink takeout boxes for guests to take their sweets home

Jacin made a mobile with taffeta that hung over the table to represent the "rain"

Loving these "potted" cupcakes with custom embossed flowers created by Jacin herself

DIY GOODIE: Jacin created a simple "favor/placecard" for bridal showers which includes a seed packet for each of your guests to take home.

Photo Shoot : a sweet bridal shower with antique + rustic touches

It's Day 6 of the April Wedding Vendor Challenges - where did this week go? I can't believe tomorrow  is already the last day of the amazing bridal shower photo shoots with inspiring tablescapes and dessert displays. Today's talented team created a beautiful tablescape with this month's color palette of bubble gum pink, mint green and robin's egg blue. The photo shoot took place in Wisconsin with The McCartneys Photography {Kelsy + Butch} and Kim of The Event Essentials creating all the lovely paper goods.

Once I shared the details for this shoot with Kelsy, she said she "had visions of a scene that was very feminine and fun. I wanted to photograph this tablescape outdoors, but in Wisconsin things are still quite brown at this time of the year. That is where the vibrant tablecloth came in! The tablecloth is the bottom half of a prom dress, which we happened to find at a second hand shop in the perfect color! My husband (aka my planning side-kick!) helped choose a location that was interesting with rolling hills, and we let the color of the table fill the space."

Kelsy went antique shopping and found rustic vintage flatware which was also perfect for the DIY cupcakes and petite plates she used. Plus, all of the wear and tear marks they had tied back into the rustic surroundings of the shoot.

Kelsy writes, "To bring in more green and pink amidst all of the blue on the table, I made pink lemonade and gave it a few pops of green with limes and cucumber slices, and also decided that the DIY Cupcakes in a Mason Jar would be cute in pink."

Kelsy said she "wanted to incorporate vibrant candy in some way, which came through in the form of salt water taffy hanging in little jars from the gorgeous canopy-style floral centerpiece! Initially I planned to attempt the dessert display myself. That came to a screeching hault (thankfully!) when I was able to connect with a handful of awesome shops on etsy who were thrilled to paricipate in this challenge. The cotton candy fudge, pink, green & blue truffles, blue bitty bites, and floral napkins are all compliments of their own unique etsy shop owner and I am grateful for their support."

DIY FREEBIE: Kelsy made the super adorable DIY Cupcakes in a Mason Jar per these instructions from My Cakies. However, Kelsy used white cake mix from a box, and added food coloring to bring it to the bubblegum hue she desired. I LOVE the presentation with the sweet label from Kim of The Event Essentials and the spoon tied on with ribbon.

Photo Shoot : an elegantly mix-n-matched vintage bridal shower

Today we move onto Day 5 of the April Wedding Vendor Challenge with a bridal shower tablescape and dessert display, plus a downloadable DIY. Today's talented team of Carey of Lasso'd Moon, Paige of Paige Hiller Photography and Jasper and Prudence Floral chose more muted tones in this month's color palette of bubble gum pink, mint green and robin's egg blue.

Today's beautiful spring bridal shower photo shoot took place at The Simon Pearce Restaurant in Quechee, Vermont. The shoot was held in The Loft which is a private room above their retail outlet and restaurant. The chef at the restaurant also made the delicious lemon tarts seen in some of the shots. All of the plates and vases are from the collection available at Simon Pearce's Gallery.

GREAT ADVICE FROM CAREY: Even though we had amazing resources, achieving the same look doesn’t need to be expensive. Mixed and matched plates and vases in the same color family would give you a similar feel. Desserts can be from anywhere (even a super market) and dressed up to look just as nice as something from a pastry shop - it’s really all about presentation and making the most of what you have.

The amazing bouquets and centerpieces were created by Tedd from Jasper and Prudence Floral and consisted of peonies, blue muscari (which looks similar to hyacinth), pink tulips, green dutch hydrangea, blue “Bella Donna” delphinium and geranium leaves. The carrot cake and fruit tarts came from the Woodstock Farmer’s Market, and the cupcakes were from Hannaford's super market. Carey of Lasso'd Moon created the invitation, dessert sign, advice cards and cupcake wrappers to coordinate with the color palette.

DIY DOWNLOAD FREEBIE: Today, Carey has provided the "Bridal Advice" cards for you to download. I love the idea of having this on the center of each guests plate. The circular card reads "Thank you for joining us! Please use this to leave words of advice". Simply print out the Bridal Advice Cards from Scribd, trim and leave one at each guests place setting. {the download link at Scribd is directly underneath the item's title in the right column}
