Unique Wedding Flowers: Concentric Wedding Bouquets {aka Biedermeier}

I was so intrigued when I saw the most unique wedding bouquet on pinterest this week {shown below}. I immediately re-pinned it and went to read more about it and then of course I wanted to get the definition of a "Concentric Wedding Bouquet". According to wikipedia, this type of bouquet is known as the "Biedermeier-style bouquet, with concentric rings of flower types and colours" {see sketch below}.

Concentric Biedermeier Wedding Bouquet - so unique and so pretty

The concentric bouquet shown above was created by weaving together metal wires in an umbrella shape with a small plate on the top. The structure was then wrapped in paper thread before violets, Pilea, and Typha leaves were glued to the form. [Floral Design is by Sergey Malyuchenko with Photography by Katya Yeliseyeva]

Summer Wedding Centerpieces : sugared fruit and key limes with peonies

I have a bit of a new obsession and that is perusing all the amazing online publications that are being published on Issuu - I remember using them for the initial publications of the Best Wedding Sites Magazine. But, back then it wasn't mobile ready and had a few other quirks that made me switch to another publisher. But now, I'm LOVING all the amazing publication designs I am seeing. Makes me want to almost start designing the magazines again. But, I know how much time goes into the creation of the publications and I'm just not able to do that at this time. With 2 girls now, I'm wanting to soak up every second I have with them - our youngest is already 9 months and summer is half over. Where is the time going?

One of the many publications I have found on Issuu is Delighted Magazine. Their latest issue features 3 gorgeous centerpieces that are just perfect for summer weddings and even bridal showers. Two of the three I'm sharing with you today, so you will want to be sure to browse through the issue online for the third centerpiece idea. Plus, you can find the the complete supply list and DIY steps to re-create these beauties yourself in the magazine. The Sugared Fruit centerpiece above was created by Darling and Daisy.  The centerpiece with peonies and key limes was created by Waiting on Martha

DIY Holiday Ornament Wedding Bouquet

This is such a brilliant idea for winter weddings. If you're considering going the non-floral wedding bouquet route and you don't want a silk or a brooch bouquet - you might fall in love with this concept. It's a wedding bouquet made with holiday ornaments {glass bulbs}. I spied this on The House that Lars Built by Brittany and the photo is by Amanda Thomsen. The full DIY instructions can be found on Etsy Weddings. What's so great about this bouquet is each year you can bring the bouquet back out again and place it into a vase as a decoration for the holiday season.

Wedding Bouquets with Herbs

Cary Pereyra, owner of The Little Glass Slipper in Brooklyn, is known for creating unique floral arrangements that include a range of traditional flowers highlighted with unexpected and eye-catching herbs. Cary is an herb florist that is passionate about creating arrangements that are both beautiful and aromatically beneficial. Some of Cary’s favorite herbs to work with include sage {known to help improve memory and concentration} and poppies {known to work as a pain reliever}. Isn't the bouquet below gorgeous?

Bridal Bouquets without Wedding Flowers

I happened to come across the most unique and AMAZING bouquets from Weddings at Work. Floral designers had to create wedding bouquets not using flowers . . . think herbs, fruits and vegetables. These bouquets are absolutely gorgeous! Which one is your favorite?
