With many new brides {and vendors} visiting my blog, I wanted to share another inspiration board from the archives as I'm thinking many of my current readers may not have seen this one yet. My favorite ideas for a winter wedding in plaid include:
1. providing your guests with wool plaid blankets to stay warm
2. use picnic tables with wool blankets on top as the tablecloths
3. let your bridesmaids wear a plaid skirt with a fancy black cardigan
4. for dessert, a red velvet cake seems like the perfect sweet treat

wedding blog + planning guide for creative weddings | inspiration for DIY Brides
Brenda's Wedding Blog is your online resource for planning your dream elegant wedding. Helping you find the "wow" in weddings.
Today's real wedding is one that I love to feature - not only because it's beautiful and filled with lovely DIY creations, but because the bride herself emailed to share her wedding with me. The wedding of Kelly and Wayne {high school sweethearts} took place just a few weeks ago on July 6th in New Jersey. Their vintage Americana wedding was inspired by the Fourth of July and Kelly's grandfather {who had worked for Coca Cola for nearly 40 years}. Even though her grandfather is passed, Coca Cola remains a huge part of Kelly's family so it seems only fitting to incorporate that into their wedding. Continue reading for much more on the wedding itself and even more gorgeous photos from Rebecca Watkins Photography.
Kelly and Wayne's entire outdoor wedding used the color scheme of ivory, navy, burgundy and baby blue. It also included, of course, lots of the old time coke a cola glass bottles. As, Rebecca the photographer wrote: "Kelly and her bridesmaids had spend months creating all of the details, but left it to the boys to put them in place that morning. With a little guidance, Wayne and the guys did it perfectly. Who said boys were bad at arts and crafts?!" Don't you love that?
All of Kelly's jewelry along with the jewelry for her bridesmaids were handmade from artists on Etsy.com and her hairpiece was even made from her Mom's wedding dress. To wrap up the reception, Kelly, Wayne, and the entire bridal party had a surprise for the wedding guests . . . a fun choreographed dance {I will see if I can get a clip of the dance}.

As we head into the July 4th holiday I originally planned to show you a red bouquet, a white bouquet and a blue bouquet. But, then I came across this lovely bouquet that had everything in one. I LOVE the addition of the pearls which could be added to any bouquet - so simple, yet makes such a statement.
Wishing all of my followers celebrating the 4th a wonderful and safe holiday. See you back here on Friday.

Happy Tuesday. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend and that you're ready for a shortened week of inspiration. First up is something fun I put together to celebrate the Stella & Dot Trunk Show I'm currently holding. Are you looking for the perfect accessory for an outfit you might already have? How about a gift of "bling" for someone special? Well, then you will want to check out the sales currently taking place at Stella & Dot. Head on over to my Trunk Show to see all the latest deals and styles.
Corals and reds seem to be very hot lately so I put together a little inspiration showcasing the weekender bag and chandelier earrings from Stella & Dot. Along with these items, I found the cutest little applique ballet dress and the gorgeous autumn air wedding invitation that matches these colors just perfectly. Any other color hue you'd like to see featured this week?
It has been a long time since I featured a real wedding. So today I thought I should change that and share with you a beautiful fall wedding from Chi Photography of Charleston. Sharon and Drew were married in Charleston, South Carolina with their reception being held at Waterfront Park.
Love how each bridesmaid is wearing a dress that fits their personal style.
Such gorgeous shots of the bride and groom in the field - beautiful lighting.
