A Unique and Stylish Halloween Wedding Inspiration Board {from the archives}

One of my post popular Halloween Wedding posts is this inspiration board which features 9 fun, unique and stylish things to incorporate into a Halloween Themed Wedding. An excerpt from the original post:

Simply start with black and white as the base color palette and then you can add punches of color - purple, orange and even bright green are all great choices for Halloween. How perfect is the downloadable "Dim the Lights and Keep Moving" poster for a wedding reception? I also love the idea of a more intimate wedding where you would marry in-front of a decorated mantle or an antique piano, like the one shown below.

1. Painted and glittered pumpkins {faux or real} in silver & black are the perfect decor accent
2. Happy Halloween banner {downloadable}
3. Paper flower wreaths are great for decor or on the entrance way to event
4. "join us . . . if you dare" Halloween Party Invitation
5. Can never go wrong with feathers {like a feather bouquet}, photo by Jessica Frey Photography
6. Black potted trees are great for centerpieces
7. Typographical Halloween Poster to set the mood, like this "Dim the Lights and Keep Moving" poster {downloadable}
8. Black and White Place Setting with DIY black-and-white cloth napkins
9. Black candy buffet with elegant yet eerie labels, ex. Twisted Treats, Witch's Sticks {downloadable labels}

Green and White Wedding Inspiration Board {from the archives}

With St. Patrick's Day a week from today, I thought it would be fun to share with you one of my favorite inspiration boards from last year that I had created to celebrate this day. There are so many great ideas in this one and I even found a brand new addition that you can see after the inspiration board. It ties into the ombré wedding cake with the large succulent perfectly.

Here are all the fun details from the first time this inspiration board was shared . . . {please note: the rope necklace is now a bit of a different shade of green, see here . . . and the mini crocheted purse is no longer listed on her site, but you might be able to request a custom order}.

I just love the oversized faux boxwood monogram as a backdrop for the couple saying their vows. The green tulip and white anemone bouquet with the striped ribbon pairs perfectly with the green and white ombré wedding cake featuring an oversized succulent flower. I always love the layered look on a bride, so this green cardigan with the detailed lace collar is perfect. And, for a cute little extra touch, the bride and/or her bridesmaids could carry this mini crocheted purse. The rope necklace would be a wonderful gift for the bridesmaids and it's something they can definitely wear again after the big day. And, of course, a green and white wedding wouldn't be complete without a bride in green wedding shoes. I also find green for weddings at this time of year is the perfect way to usher in spring - it's so fresh and means wonderful beauty is ahead, just like a new marriage.

And, now for the perfect addition to this inspiration board - potted succulents with hand painted shamrocks and trim on the pots. This "lucky succulents" can be seen here and are a DIY created by A Night Owl Blog.

A Red, White and Blue Wedding Bouquet

As we head into the July 4th holiday I originally planned to show you a red bouquet, a white bouquet and a blue bouquet. But, then I came across this lovely bouquet that had everything in one. I LOVE the addition of the pearls which could be added to any bouquet - so simple, yet makes such a statement.

Wishing all of my followers celebrating the 4th a wonderful and safe holiday. See you back here on Friday.

A Glitzy Black and White Wedding Inspiration Board

While today's inspiration board would work for a formal evening reception anytime of the year - wouldn't it be great for a holiday or New Year's Eve wedding? Lots of crystals, glitter and sequins always makes parties so much more festive. The Crystal Encrusted Ankle Strap Platform Sandal and Crystal Sash are both the perfect accessory from White by Vera Wang {available at David's Bridal}. Wouldn't your bridesmaids look stunning in this Allure sequined black evening dress? The black glitter minaudiere clutch would be the perfect accessory for either the bride or her wedding party. As would the sequined black and white earrings. And, with a wedding this glam - the bouquet deserves to be equally glamorous like this black and white jeweled bouquet from Karen Tran Florals.

For the reception, let your guests know the menu selections with a crystal embellished menu card. Along with the sparkling wedding cake {which is one of the most amazing cakes I have ever seen} the glittered black royal icing flowers are the perfect topper for the cupcakes you might also offer for dessert.

Had to add an update to this post as I just spied the perfect the pearl bracelet from Pearl & Clasp that would be just lovely for the bride. I love how the centers of the cupcake toppers and the cake bling resemble pearls. {oh and don't forget, you can save 15% at Pearl & Clasp with the code BrendasBlog15 at checkout}.

Black and White Wedding Inspiration with Hot Pink

So happy to welcome Laura {a monthly contributor} of Eye Candy Event Details to the blog today with her absolutely stunning inspiration for February. And, just like last month, Laura provides us with her beautiful details for each photo so you can easily implement the elements into your event. For the inspiration board this month Laura writes . . . One of my favorite color palettes for a wedding is black & white with ANY accent color! There is just something about it that makes it look so polished. So dramatic. So inviting! But then when you add hot pink with it . . . well let's just say I think it's the PERFECT color combination! One thing you must know, is my own wedding, about two years ago, was this exact color palette and it was so much fun planning the décor. Personally, I did this color palette paired with the damask print and it was stunning! That is probably THE reason that I love black and white so much. Simply for the fact that when you add a bold pattern to the color scheme, is just demands attention! It's perfect for the person looking to make a statement but yet keeping the whole event classy as well.

1. Why choose between having a traditional wedding cake or the ever-so-trendy cupcake tower? Why not combine & have both! This stunning tower is the ultimate solution for the couples who want it both ways.

2. When decorating the room at the venue, consider draping the ceiling with the colors from your wedding with yards of fabric. It creates a dramatic effect & makes the place seem magical . . .

3. A growing trend that is insanely popular with brides and bridesmaids alike, is to coordinate belts or sashes to the colors of the wedding. It's a fantastic way to add in an accent color & the flowers are gorgeous!!

4. Having a fabulous invitation is the key that sets the entire tone for your wedding day. Make sure to incorporate a design element that you will have present at the wedding, into your invitation. Guests will be counting down the days to your event, if you have an invite that grabs their attention from the minute they open it up!

5. Dramatic centerpieces using the black & white color palette make a bold statement but yet can still be simple! The choices are endless & you can create this look with a patterned charger, branches & some fresh flowers in the accent color for a look that is simple yet bold.

6. Wearing a fantastic pair of shoes, that match your wedding colors, is a necessity! Picking out a FAB pair of heels in hot pink is an experience you will not soon forget. Make sure you add that to the list of "must do" shots for your photographer as the photo could turn out to be a true piece of art!

7. Choosing florals for your centerpieces can be very simple & dramatic all in one. A simple bloom in a small vase, surround it with petals, add some candles & you have a wonderful way to add dimension to the centers of tables & make an impact all at the same time.

8. Looking for a unique idea with the seating chart & your guests? These button escort cards are a fun & unexpected twist to the traditional seating chart & are sure to have your guests talking.

9. Chalkboard paint on anything is so HUGE right now, so why not incorporate it into your wedding in a practical way. Try dipping the stems of your wine glasses, for your bridal party, in chalkboard paint & then writing their names or a sweet note for them.

10. If you are looking for a fun, bold accessory for your bridesmaids, this clutch is your answer. Not only does it have a bold pattern in black & white, the hot pink flower plays up the element of fun & sure to hold everything they need for the big day.

11. Trying to find a statement flower to go with a black & white wedding? Why not consider anemones. They make one true statement all by themselves & can double duty as centerpieces on the tables after the ceremony.

12. Hanging initials of the bride & groom, in their wedding colors, is a wonderful way to dress up the back of their chairs.

13. Give your guests a little treat to remember your day. No matter what you choose, these little tuxedo & wedding dress favor boxes will be the perfect packaging.

Much love to Laura for joining us today with this beautiful inspiration for the holiday season. Please be sure visit the Eye Candy Event Details site and the Eye Candy Event Details Design Shop.
