4 Tricks to Have Your Favorite Wedding Flowers Out of Season

I recently received an inquiry for my Lavender Wedding Invitations, but the bride had said "I am contacting florists now about flowers for the wedding. It is going to be harder than I thought to get fresh lavender for the wedding. I just need to make sure I will be having lavender elsewhere in the wedding." This made me realize that other brides might be running into this same problem when the flowers they choose for their wedding are out of season. So, today, I'm sharing with you a lavender wedding inspiration board that shows how you can incorporate your favorite flowers into your wedding if they are out of season with 4 tricks {shown below}.

Lavender Wedding Inspiration Board {ideas to incorporate your flower when it's out of season}

4 Ways to Incorporate Your {Out of Season} Favorite Wedding Flower

1. Use the dried version in bouquets {already preserved for keepsakes} or in sachet favors

2. Incorporate the floral in your designs {invitations, menus, favor tags, even the clutch}

3. Bring the flower color into other elements of the wedding {dress, shoes, candle holders, etc}

4. Have your baker bring the flower into the design of the cake {either on the top or cascading down the tiers}

Whimsical Lavender and Lace Styled Wedding Shoot with Naked Bundt Cakes
I'm loving today's featured whimsical styled shoot from Ashley Cook Photography. It's the perfect blend of lavender and lace and there's even succulents and cabbage incorporated into the floral arrangements. It's a shoot in a lavender field where naked cakes {bundt ones too} and stunning flowers are all drenched in the sun. This shoot will have you dreaming of a wedding with a lavender field as the backdrop. {I can't say to have your wedding directly in the field of lavender as there's usually quite a few bees on the flowers}. This shoot reminds me of the lavender wedding invitation I've designed which is still one of my best sellers, especially for bridal showers. I think it's because something classic like lavender will never go out of style.

A Perfect Pair : Lavender Invitation Suite with Delectable Cookies

This weekend I spied these gorgeous lavender cookies from Arty McGoo on pinterest and immediately knew they would be the perfect delectable pairing for my very own lavender invitation suite that has been selling like crazy in my etsy shop as both a DIY template and printed. What do you think? Wouldn't they be super sweet together at a bridal shower or even wedding? PS: You must check out Arty McGoo's site - her cookies are absolutely stunning. I was going thru her site looking at each one in awe - she has such an amazing talent with frosting.

Keys Creek Lavender Farm - amazing wedding location

I received an email today {well actually yesterday as I'm writing this post a day early} but I just have to share it with you on the main blog. Usually all wedding and honeymoon locations are posted in the destinations section of my blog. If you haven't checked this section out recently, please do, it's filled with amazing locations and even some special limited time deals.

In San Diego, there's a beautiful wedding location, Keys Creek Lavender Farm (in Valley Center, CA). It's actually San Diego County's only USDA Certified Organic lavender farm. It's a picturesque and intimate venue with seemingly endless rows of lavender. The farm is nestled in a serene valley affectionately described as the end of nowhere. In addition to the eight acres of land and more than two dozen varieties of lavender, the farm also houses a labyrinth, bee hives where delicious lavender honey is made, a peace garden where visitors can plant lavender in memory of their loved ones, and an essential oil distillery – all great spots for those wedding photos. Just look at the photo below...who wouldn't want to have their photo taken in a gorgeous lavender field?

And, if you're looking for a little lavender inspiration, here's a lavender infused inspiration board I put together a while back {way back in 2008, wow, thinking it's time for a new one}. And, here's a peach and lavender wedding inspiration board {more recent}.

Color Palette:
peach and lavender

Today's board was inspired by a color palette I saw while reading the latest issue of Well Wed in New York. Peach and lavender pair so well with each other and are such a romantic color combination. And, if in season, don't forget about incorporating peaches, apricots and nectarines into the dishes you serve to guests, along with a few sprigs of fresh lavender for that special fragrant touch.
