Real Wedding : a preppy personalized Newport beach affair

Today's lovely Newport wedding of Emily and John was submitted by Stephanie of Couture Parties in Rhode Island and photographed by Armor & Martel. While the couple currently live in NYC, Newport was a favorite location for the bride whose family summered there. So, when Emily and John became engaged, they knew the wedding would be held at the exclusive Bailey's Beach, a private beach club in Newport, RI. What a stunning location - I just love the photo of the bride and groom on the balcony overlooking the water. What a beautiful view.

Emily's dress was designed by Monique Lhuillier and she carried a bouquet of hydrangeas in peach and white roses. Both her mother and grandmother had carried peach roses, so Emily knew she wanted to incorporate them into her bouquet too.

The bridesmaids wore chartreuse short strapless dresses. The couples monogram was designed by the brides Aunt and was used on each place card, table numbers and the programs.

Though you would typically see the groom in a bow tie and madras blazer, John and his groomsmen (all twelve of them and the brides dad and grooms dad) wore white cotton pants with embroidered whales on them. Along with navy blue blazers and a green silk tie to match the bridesmaids dresses.

The ceremony was held at historic Salve Regina University in Newport and then, all guests were transported to the reception by trolleys.

John is an avid golfer so to incorporate golf into the reception, Stephanie of Couture Parties found personalized green golf tees and then made paper "golf balls" the she glued on top of the tee. She then wrote each guests name on them with their seat assignment. They served as the escort cards and were displayed in fresh wheat grass.

What a wonderful array of food and treats the guests were served. They feasted on filet mignon, an ice cream bar, a basket weave cake that resembled the couple's Tiffany’s China, and baseball cookies to look like the grooms favorite team, The New York Yankees. As the guests departed, they were served mini grilled cheeses, water bottles and treats from the navy blue and green candy bar.

Congratulations to Emily and John and a big thank you to Stephanie of Couture Parties for sharing this beautiful Newport affair with my readers today. To see more from Stephanie, please visit her web site and blog.

Real Wedding Decor : from Couture Parties in Newport, RI

Some of you may remember my blog post recently on Adirondack chairs at weddings that featured several photos from Stephanie of Couture Parties {Newport Rhode Island's Premier Party Hostess}. Well today, I'm happy to welcome Stephanie back as she shares more photos with us from that same wedding. I'm loving the bold colors used and all the little details Stephanie added for this wedding of 350 guests with only 3 months to plan the entire event. The wedding was held on a private estate in Newport, RI that is located on 2 acres of waterfront property. The land for the event was an open field with no electricity or running water and poison ivy was everywhere. Stephanie worked with a landscaper to cut back all the trees, weeds and poison ivy for the 3 months up until 6 am the day of to kill the poison ivy. She also had to bring in trucks with generators for power and trailers of bathrooms.

The bride and groom wanted a very festive look for their reception. The ceremony was intimate with only 75 guests, 350 guests arrived for the reception.

There were 5 different tablecloths and 36 tables with a nautical feel. Each table had a hurricane vase with sand, white candles, and sea shells. Two star tipped starfish a 2 personalized wooden boats finished the look.

Stephanie said she created a bug spray table that was huge hit with the guests. She used wooden anchors and custom wooden life preserver signs for the rest rooms. A candy buffet was the guests party favor.

In the cocktail tent a steel drum player was playing while hors d'oeuvres were passed. The centerpieces in here were square vases with multicolored roses and petit Adirondack chair candle holders with a custom sign that said "Lisa & Christopher".
The lounge area was created with the Adirondack chairs that faced the water.
Paper lanterns were used to light a pathway from the cocktail tent (by the water) to the dinning tent up on the hill. Stephanie of Couture Parties was the designer of everything, including decor, florals and photography.
Thank you so much Stephanie for sharing the details of this wedding with us - it's absolutely stunning.

Please check back later this morning as I'll be having something fun starting today for all of you that love affordable beautiful jewelry {either for yourself or for gifts}.
