When I spied this ruffled wedding dress from Erin of The Peppermint Pretty, I fell in love with the layers of scalloped ruffles on the skirt and the ruching on the bodice. PS: It's priced at $895, an exclusive etsy price as it retails for $1,300. Today's wedding couple, Kate and Trevor went to a little dock on the Detroit River for their big reveal, aka the "first look". Then, creative shots were taken around the riverfront and on an old closed down golf course. The couple married on a top level terrace overlooking the Detroit River and performed a "knot" ceremony. For those that may not know, this means the bride and groom tie a knot that is impossible to undo . . . therefore putting the phrase "tie the knot" into action. The ceremony even included a Dr. Suess reading. At the reception, the chair covers and centerpieces mimicked the brides wedding gown and there was even a super elegant candy table with the guests being treated to a brownie sundae for their dessert.

How is it Friday already? I feel like we were just taking our daughter to the ballet shop to pick out her brand new leotard and shoes for her brand new class starting soon. Since this is our last weekend before school starts, I plan to make the most of it. It's also a 3-day weekend as hubby has Monday off from work so I'm thinking we might plan a picnic lunch that day if the weather holds out for us {I'll also be taking the day off}. Do you have any plans for the holiday weekend? For today's inspiration board, it all started when I re-pinned the amazing cake and the dress from etsy. Not only is purple one of my favorite colors, but I LOVE ruffles as well. Something about layers and layers of ruffles just makes me happy.
