Farm to Table Chic : Outdoor Wedding Theme for Fall Weddings
Throughout this week and next, I will be sharing with you 5 great outdoor wedding themes for fall weddings {they'd also be ideal for those planning a summer wedding}. Williams Ski and Patio has collaborated with wedding planners and photographers who have designed the most amazing outdoor wedding themes. The first theme I have for you today is a Farm to Table Chic wedding design by Nancy Liu Chin of Nancy Liu Chin Designs in Napa, CA.

When asked about her design seen here, this is what Nancy said . . .

One theme is winery or vineyard weddings. Naturally this is very popular in the Bay Area as we are 1 to 2 hours away from Napa and Sonoma. Suddenly within an hour or two, you can leave the mind boggling, congested urban traffic for wide winding roads, pastoral scenery, and lush greenery. What bride and groom wouldn't want their guests to enjoy a love and long drive into the winery countryside?
Wineries typically have such beautiful landscapes. There's also the expansive vineyards. They lend themselves to this natural and rustic feel that can go modern, glam to vintage and barn like. I think wineries are so private that guests feel like they have the whole place to themselves. In Sonoma and Napa we have such diverse wineries . . . it can be intimate outdoor ceremonies under olive groves to indoor wine cave receptions for hundreds.
In this particular scene we were going for the updated farm to table rustic. It's rustic in the sense that the table is wood and the flowers are very natural. But unlike the expected vineyard motif, there is a more modern line to this look.
I think it's informal, updated not vintage or barn yard. There is a chicness to it.

Daisy Themed Wedding Favors

Looks like spring will finally arrive in the northeast this weekend - we're expecting temperatures to reach 50 degrees with sunshine both days. Should be perfect weather for my daughters favorite Easter activity - an egg hunt in my parents backyard. I love hearing her giggle as she runs all over looking for the eggs :) And, speaking of spring, Daisy Themed Wedding Favors are the perfect choice for both spring and summer weddings and bridal showers. Here's my favorites from Favor Days.

PS: I was supposed to have another doggie outtake for you today, but I promise to be back tomorrow morning with another one {maybe two}. Time was not on my side yesterday with a fussy baby and then she cried so much before bed that she made herself sick {tried her for a little bit in her crib and we probably left her alone in hopes of her self-soothing for no more than 3 minutes}. Needless to say, my to-do list grew even longer after that incident. If there's any moms out there that have tips on transitioning a baby into the crib from a bassinet, I'm all ears. Oh, and on Monday, I will be sharing with you "a day in the life of" post along with other WAHM bloggers so please do be sure to check that out. And, now for today's real post . . .

2010 Wedding Trends with Wedding & Bridal Expert Alison Rowe

I was honored to be able to send in some questions and have Alison Rowe provide her insight into this season's most popular wedding trends. The questions I asked her are shown below, along with a brief summary of Alison's reply. To see Alison's answers and explanations in more depth, please watch the video below.

1. Are you seeing lots of ruffles with wedding gowns?
There's lots of gowns with ruffled detail, short ones, lots of lace, and 3-d textural elements too

2. Are you seeing a transition to hairpieces instead of veils?
More and more brides are wearing beautiful jeweled pieces in their hair - as seen on the red-carpet.

3. Have you noticed a trend towards serving cupcakes or even multiple mini wedding cakes instead of one large wedding cake?
Many couples are thinking outside the box and cupcakes are definitely a more fun option. It's basically all about customizing what you would like for your wedding.

3. What are the popular wedding colors and themes this season?
Jewel tones as we are seeing in bridesmaids dresses and purple and green will be popular going forward. Popular themes include destination weddings {helps keep to a budget as they tend to be a smaller, more intimate gathering}, outdoor weddings and/or bringing the outdoors inside {cuts down on florals which cuts down on budget as well}, vintage inspired weddings {20's and deco styles}, and the vintage style is carrying over to jewelry as well.
