It's a sale you do not want to miss whether you are a national, handmade or local wedding professional. Remember, it's engagement season so you want to be sure brides know all about you. The 2014 Holiday Gift Guide from ModCloth + a December Wedding

* This post contains affiliate links, and your support by clicking on the links will earn me a percentage of the sale but you will not be charged anything additional. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I know I don't usually post on Sunday but I've been designing away for my daughter's 8th birthday and wanted to take a little break to look thru The 2014 Holiday Gift Guide from ModCloth. The design of this guide is beautiful with the pretty gold ornaments that let you select the category to browse thru including: trendsetters' picks, vintage inspired finds, party style, treats under $20 and much more. There's even Free Printable Gift Tags {in pink - my favorite color}.

I saw the Essential Elegance Skirt in Black and I'm thinking this might work for a wedding I'm headed to in December. It's a great length and would look cute with a dressy tank and a red crop cardigan. The plaid heels {The Only Galaxy for Me Heel in Student} would look super cute too as I think they're very Christmas like and with a wedding just before the holidays, I could even wear these again for Christmas.

I've already attended the bridal shower - but I certainly wish I had seen these adorable Scoops of Flower Measuring Spoons beforehand. They would have been perfect as the bride-to-be does a lot of baking. They're the perfect gift and what a conversation piece.

What are your favorites from the Gift Guide?

A Purple and Black Halloween Inspired Wedding + a Giveaway Reminder

Happy Halloween! To celebrate today I'm re-sharing one of my favorite Halloween inspiration boards I've created with you. I love purple and black together and for Halloween it looks amazing and even more so when a few pops of orange are added in. This Halloween Wedding inspiration board is filled with unique ideas including: a handmade dress that actually lights up for the reception, an out-of-the-ordinary wedding cake that is made with oreo cookies stacked into 3-tiers, black candlesticks on all the tables and a shimmery purple chandelier for over the dance floor. What's your favorite idea from this inspiration? You can see the original post {with image credits} here.

PS: The current giveaway ends on Monday night so don't forget to enter to win $75 in stylish bridal accessories from Silver Bridal's etsy shop {items include sashes, head pieces, bracelets and garters for the brides and bridesmaids}.

DIY Printable Halloween Pinwheels for Wedding Favors + a Fun Holiday Banner

I wanted to kick-off Halloween week with something fun not only for Halloween, but for any wedding or party as these stylish DIY Pinwheels are available in 14 other color choices. These paper pinwheels have got to be the easiest ever to make and look super cute attached to gifts or favor boxes - plus at $3 a template, they're also a real bargain. They're from You Make Do™ and are available for purchase as a download making them easy to customize. Maybe you don't want black and white pinwheels. That's no problem as you can simply print on any color paper you choose and you'll have the black chevron on a pretty color background. {I filled my favor boxes with candy corn that I lined with a black paper doily}

To make these pinwheels you will need the following:
- card stock paper of your color choice {the template has 2 pinwheels per page}
- a printer {these were printed on an Epson XP-950}
- scissors or an Xacto knife
- brass fasteners to hold the pinwheel together {1/2 inch size}
- glue to adhere the pinwheel to the package

Once you have the pinwheels printed, you will follow the guidelines for cutting them out and then you can either fold inwards or backwards - depending on your preference for the chevron pattern. I picked the black pattern as it reminded me of Halloween. TIP: I used a small hole punch for the tips of the pinwheel, and then just made a small slit in the center for the brass fastener to go thru. The pinwheel template comes with small circles to cover up the centers of the pinwheel and add a finishing touch.

PS: The Happy Halloween Banner you see is also from You Make Do™ - and I printed it on orange paper so the letters would be a color on the black background. It's now hanging on the mirror over our decorated mantle in the living room. The cute bat tag on the favor box was a bonus circle included with the banner. I used my 2 inch circular paper punch to cut out the banner and then hole punched the top and used orange and black bakers twine I found at Target for $1.

A Unique and Stylish Halloween Wedding Inspiration Board {from the archives}

One of my post popular Halloween Wedding posts is this inspiration board which features 9 fun, unique and stylish things to incorporate into a Halloween Themed Wedding. An excerpt from the original post:

Simply start with black and white as the base color palette and then you can add punches of color - purple, orange and even bright green are all great choices for Halloween. How perfect is the downloadable "Dim the Lights and Keep Moving" poster for a wedding reception? I also love the idea of a more intimate wedding where you would marry in-front of a decorated mantle or an antique piano, like the one shown below.

1. Painted and glittered pumpkins {faux or real} in silver & black are the perfect decor accent
2. Happy Halloween banner {downloadable}
3. Paper flower wreaths are great for decor or on the entrance way to event
4. "join us . . . if you dare" Halloween Party Invitation
5. Can never go wrong with feathers {like a feather bouquet}, photo by Jessica Frey Photography
6. Black potted trees are great for centerpieces
7. Typographical Halloween Poster to set the mood, like this "Dim the Lights and Keep Moving" poster {downloadable}
8. Black and White Place Setting with DIY black-and-white cloth napkins
9. Black candy buffet with elegant yet eerie labels, ex. Twisted Treats, Witch's Sticks {downloadable labels}
