Alexis + Daniel had a super sweet communion ceremony where they wrote their own vows and also filled a box with love letters to each other and a bottle of wine which is to be opened if they are going through a rough patch or on their 5 year anniversary. I've seen this idea before and I am so in love with it. It's a new take on the first look for the couple that doesn't want to seach other before the ceremony. You stand on opposite sides of a wall or door and hold hands. It's a great way to make your day a bit more special for each other. In the case of the wedding of Alexis and Daniel, they wanted to be able to exchange a few words and pray together without actually seeing each other.
The cross necklace on the bride's bouquet was a memento of her late grandfather.
