"With This Ring" | A Valentine's Day Proposal on a rock candy stick

Where did the past month go? They seem to be flying by, but I'm really excited to share with you this months round of Wedding Vendor Challenges. It's been one year this month since I started the challenges and I have an amazing collection of photo shoots to share with you starting today thru next Friday with a special Valentine's Day giveaway on Tuesday {you won't want to miss this one, there will be 5 winners}. The color palette this month was fuchsia and black and our first challenge comes to us from Madeline's Weddings and Events and Michelle Zerr Photography in Canada. The theme was an intimate dinner for two and I love how Madeline interpreted that theme by putting together a proposal. They had a 2 person table set up and the linens consisted of fuchsia satin floor length linens, a fuchsia organza overlay, a black satin table runner, black satin chair covers and matching black satin napkins. So elegant and romantic . . .

A “With This Ring” card was created that rested at the bride’s place setting and the engagement ring was placed on top of a rock candy swizzle stick. So cute and sweet!!!

The beautiful stationery was bright, fun and flirty.! The place cards are super cute and read “the lovely bride” & “the happy groom”! And, as is customary with Madeline's stationery, there was matching menus and the stationery carried over into the dessert table as well.

The centerpiece was simple and was comprised of white chrysanthemums floating in water. Madeline and her team surrounded the cylinder vases with votive candles.

The entire set-up was in a canopy, so the ‘couple’ could have a secluded and closed off area for their special evening. Fuchsia panels of fabric and fuchsia spotlighting was included too.

The dessert table was fabulous and made use of a black pintuck linen with a fuchsia satin table runner. And, there was everything from mini brownies, cookies, strawberry marshmallows and of course cinnamon hearts for the Valentine's spread.

Thank you so much Madeline and Michelle for an amazing shoot to start off our February Wedding Vendor Challenges with. I'll be back on Monday with more . . .

A beachy feel but not a beach themed wedding in Canada from Madeline's Weddings and Events

It's always fun when I get to share a wedding from Madeline's Weddings and Events with you. I'm always intrigued by her gorgeous tablesettings and head table set-ups. And, today's wedding of Deb and Garrett is a great color palette too - ivory, teal and hints of aqua with orange. The bride, Deb, came to Madeline's looking for a beachy feel but not a beach themed wedding. The lovely photography is by Trevor Brucki.

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I first viewed the photos, but Deb did in fact choose to wear 2 pairs of amazing shoes. LOVE IT!!!!!!

From Madeline: "We used our gorgeous floor length ivory linens complimented by a splash of colour with our teal table runners and satin napkins. Each table featured tall and colourful centerpieces, perfect for Deb's beachy feel! For their head table, we used our floor length satin ivory table linens again as well as our aqua organza overlays swooped over the front of the head table. In contrast to the reception tables, here we used ivory table runners and ivory satin napkins to finish off the look."

Madeline’s also custom designed the bride and groom's wedding invitations and respond cards. Madeline writes . . . "Deb provided us with a fabulous image they took while on holiday – the image featured their names written in the sand! It was the PERFECT addition to their stationery! We carried the design right through to their ceremony programs and reception stationery that featured table numbers, place cards, menu cards and a gorgeous seating chart!"

Photo Shoot : a rooftop "Love is Sweet" bridal shower in Canada

I can't believe it - but it's time again for the start of the monthly wedding vendor challenges. This month - the color palette is aqua blue, red and butter yellow. Some of you are probably already familiar with these monthly features, but let me recap for just a sec for all my new readers. Each month I have vendor teams from across the US and even Canada {hoping to even go international in a future one} come together to organize a photo shoot of a bridal shower tablescape with a dessert display. Oh, and each team must provide me with at least one DIY - it can either be downloadable or re-created from a list of supplies. For today, Madeline’s Weddings & Events came up with a gorgeous display on Delta Winnipeg’s Rooftop Pool Area. What an amazing view of the city {wait until you see the night shots - it features Madeline's signature lighting effects}. The photographs are by Michelle Zerr Photography.

Madeline says they had to contend with crazy winds on the rooftop which made it hard for the linens to stay put and definitely wouldn't allow the candles to stay lit. I have to say, I can't even tell there was any wind. It's just amazing.

For the seating area Madeline's used pinched red linens with soft ivory satin chair covers, aqua satin table runners and aqua napkins. Each table was lined with pillar candle centerpieces, red and ivory rose petals, yellow gerbera daisies and votive candles in red and blue votive holders. There was even aqua sugar cookies for favours at each setting.

For stationery Madeline's created a Bride’s Sign that was hung off her chair, menu cards, place cards, 2 signature drink signs, candy cards for the dessert bar as well as "Love is Sweet” letters.

The dessert bar featured pinched aqua linens and red satin table runners with all sorts of goodies including fudge, french macaroons, mini cookies, mini brownies, a cotton candy tree, cakettes, cupcakes, and candy corn. There was even a cocktail table of cold milk – because as Madeline asks . . . "who doesn’t want some milk with all these desserts?"

This has to be the most genius dessert display I've ever seen - cotton candy on tree branches. Looks just like cotton bolls which are quite popular in rustic wedding bouquets.

Madeline's also set up a Signature Drink Table with "Something Blue" and a "Sunny Future".

And, now it's time for taking the party into the night with Madeline's signature lighting and a beautiful view of the city skyline . . .

Real Wedding : a black & white dress, cranberry red shoes + feathers

A special treat for Eye Candy Friday today - a real Canadian wedding with the bride in the most gorgeous of wedding gowns {black and white} and the most unique wedding bouquet with white feathers in it! Don't you just love Nikki, the bride's, dress with her red shoes? The ceremony and reception for Nikki and Todd was held at the Four Points Sheraton and planned by Madeline's Weddings and Events and photographed by Jeremy Hiebert Photography.

For their reception, Madeline's designed the space with a palette that included black, cranberry red and white. The reception tables were dressed with cranberry red floor length linens, cranberry red overlays and a damask table runner. The chairs had black chair covers and the tables were topped off with black napkins to match.

For Nikki and Todd's head table, there was a gorgeous damask table linen that covered the entire table and a white table runner spread across. And, of course Madeline's also had their signature head table décor that included candles and beautiful red rose petals that just POP against the damask linen.

Madeline's also designed all the stationery for our happy couple Nikki and Todd. They created invitations and matching respond cards as well as the reception stationery that included menu cards, table numbers and a seating chart.
