Make it Fab. Make it Sparkle. Make it a Great 2013 {plus a glittery black and silver inspiration board}

May your New Year be Sparkly and Filled with Love. I'll be back and ready to get 2013 rolling on January 2nd. Until then I want to thank everyone of my readers, vendors, sponsors and supporters for all you have done to get my blog to where it is today. I'm super excited for what 2013 will bring and I plan to make it the best year ever. Not only because my hubby and I are now sharing our love with 2 daughters {for those of you that are new to my blog, we welcomed a new little girl to our lives in late September}, but because I have some great plans for both my blog and BestWeddingSites.com that will benefit both my brides and vendors. Please stay tuned for further details on that - but I'm super psyched to get the ball rolling on these new additions and features for you.

And, to hold you over until Wednesday - here's an inspiration board I put together to celebrate a glittery black and silver New Year's Eve party.

Serving your dinner on clock plates is the perfect way to ring in the new year. And, when the clock strikes midnight, you will love to pass out these DIY Party Horns. If you're going all out and celebrating in grand style, this halter top dress with jeweled bodice would look stunning. Ask your guests to join you with this 'Tis the Season to Celebrate Invitation. Of course the sweetest way to say Happy 2013 would be with chocolate sparkler cupcakes under a canopy of white and silver balloons.

Inspiration Board Flashback : Pink and Grey Winter Wedding

Today we head back to one of my favorite inspiration boards for the winter months that I created earlier this year. Today I have a few new ideas that I've come across that are perfect additions to this pink and grey winter wedding. You can see all of my pink and grey wedding inspiration on pinterest. From original post:

This inspiration board features lots of handmade items in one of my favorite color palettes - pink and grey. For this wedding I envisioned warm textures including yarn and even nice cozy leg warmers in coordinating colors for the bridesmaids. And, for dessert... why not have one cake that is the focal point like this one with the bunting and then have other homemade cakes surrounding it? What is your favorite element in the board?

Wishing you a wonderful holiday filled with love plus a red and white winter wedding inspiration board

Another year is nearly over and the holidays are upon us. I have spent much of the past week praying lots and waiting anxiously for the time to arrive when I could pick my daughter up at school. I've cried too and cannot begin to imagine what this holiday will be like for so many families this year. I am enjoying every single second with our two girls and feel so blessed to have them in our lives. I wish every one of my readers and vendors a wonderfully blessed holiday filled with love.

And, as we head into the holiday, I wanted to leave you with an all new inspiration board for a red and white holiday winter wedding. I have to say that I think one of my new favorite blogs is Kevin & Amanda {where the peppermint macarons are from}. Not only do they have amazing looking recipes - but the photography is stunning. And, they even share photography tips.

A Glitzy Black and White Wedding Inspiration Board

While today's inspiration board would work for a formal evening reception anytime of the year - wouldn't it be great for a holiday or New Year's Eve wedding? Lots of crystals, glitter and sequins always makes parties so much more festive. The Crystal Encrusted Ankle Strap Platform Sandal and Crystal Sash are both the perfect accessory from White by Vera Wang {available at David's Bridal}. Wouldn't your bridesmaids look stunning in this Allure sequined black evening dress? The black glitter minaudiere clutch would be the perfect accessory for either the bride or her wedding party. As would the sequined black and white earrings. And, with a wedding this glam - the bouquet deserves to be equally glamorous like this black and white jeweled bouquet from Karen Tran Florals.

For the reception, let your guests know the menu selections with a crystal embellished menu card. Along with the sparkling wedding cake {which is one of the most amazing cakes I have ever seen} the glittered black royal icing flowers are the perfect topper for the cupcakes you might also offer for dessert.

Had to add an update to this post as I just spied the perfect the pearl bracelet from Pearl & Clasp that would be just lovely for the bride. I love how the centers of the cupcake toppers and the cake bling resemble pearls. {oh and don't forget, you can save 15% at Pearl & Clasp with the code BrendasBlog15 at checkout}.

9 Fun & Stylish Ideas for Halloween Weddings + a Printable Invitation

With Halloween coming soon I wanted to gather ideas together for a stylish Halloween wedding. {of course these ideas work for any Halloween party, not just weddings} Simply start with black and white as the base color palette and then you can add punches of color - purple, orange and even bright green are all great choices for Halloween. How perfect is the downloadable "Dim the Lights and Keep Moving" poster for a wedding reception? I also love the idea of a more intimate wedding where you would marry in-front of a decorated mantle or an antique piano, like the one shown below. And, as an added bonus, I've created a downloadable Halloween Party Invitation. Simply download and fill in the blanks and then mail to all your guests {sized as a 4x6}.
